Britney Spears Just Got Some New Allies In Her Conservatorship Fight Against Jamie Spears

The ongoing battle between Britney Spears, her father Jamie Spears, and his control over her conservatorship has been an even bigger topic of public conversation for several months now. With the younger Spears finally speaking publicly about what being under the order has been like for her these 13 years, and how she believes she's been mistreated by her father and other family members during that time, the singer is finally seeing some positive movement with her efforts to get her dad removed as conservator of her estate. Now, Britney Spears is seeing some new allies in her conservatorship fight against Jamie Spears.

While several celebrities have come out recently to talk about their feelings regarding what Britney Spears has been through during her often tumultuous career, it wasn't until the pop star spoke up in court that she really began to see things with her conservatorship change. In just the past few weeks, she's been allowed to drive again, been able to finally appoint her own attorney to help her fight for changes, and been given more control over her social media accounts. Now, according to a new court filing (via Variety), the other of Spears' conservators and, allegedly, her doctors are also on board with the idea that Jamie Spears should be removed from her conservatorship.

Two days after Britney Spears' new attorney, Mathew Rosengart, filed to suspend Jamie Spears from his daughter's conservatorship and have him permanently removed from his duties there, the lawyer for Jodi Montgomery, who acts as the conservator of Spears' person (and works with her and her doctors on Spears day-to-day well being and health) filed new legal documents which say that Montgomery also would like the senior Spears taken off of the conservatorship, with the filing noting, in part:

[Montgomery has] concluded that Jamie Spears should not continue to act as…Conservator of the Estate, because his doing so is not in the best interest of [Britney Spears]...[Spears’] medical team agrees that it is not in the best interest of the Conservatee for Mr. Spears to remain Conservator.

While there, apparently, has not been any legal document filed yet which confirms this position on the part of Britney Spears' doctors, as one might imagine, should the claim made in Jodi Montgomery's filing be accurate, it could have a major impact on the judge who is overseeing the case. If it's decided that Spears' medical team truly believes that Jamie Spears being involved in the conservatorship is actually hurting the star, such statements would be taken quite seriously when deciding whether or not he should remain as conservator of her estate.

Britney Spears has been attempting to have her dad taken off of her case for about a year now. But, with her opening up in late June and comparing the conservatorship, under her father's lead, to "sex trafficking," the potential for Spears to finally be free of her dad's control and the conservatorship as a whole has never been greater.

And, the international pop icon (who may now be officially retired) doesn't seem to plan to stop speaking her mind any time soon. She and her younger sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, have been engaged in a war of words on social media, and the songstress also called out the "people closest" to her for leaving her "drowning" under her father's allegedly oppressive rule.

We will likely see, before long, what this new filing will mean for Britney Spears and her conservatorship battle.
