Big Brother nominations CBS

Warning! The following contains spoilers from the Big Brother live feeds up until Wednesday, July 21. Read at your own risk!

Big Brother Season 23 got off to a hot start in Week 1, but with Brandon "Frenchie" French's reign over and Kyland Young in control for Week 2, things have settled down slightly. Well, at least in the fact that the Head of Household hasn't been all over the place and making constant targets, which could be a sign more relaxed times are ahead for the Houseguests.

Kyland nominated Frenchie and Britini D'Angelo in Sunday's episode of Big Brother, and after Derek Xiao secured his second veto win of the season, he decided to keep his bond with Kyland strong and keep nominations the same. Both are in danger of being sent home during Thursday's live eviction, but which one is the most likely target at this point?

Frenchie Will Likely Be Evicted In Week 2

If it wasn't evident in Sunday's episode, Brandon French did himself no favors ahead of his nomination by Kyland Young. He disbanded the Slaughterhouse alliance as soon as he heard his name was up for nomination, which made it easier for the people that were truly with him to cut ties and float his name to Kyland. Ultimately, Travis Long's conversation with the rest of the Queens about Frenchie not being a man of his word has been the talk of the house, and his "HOHitis" ensured no one wants to endure that chaos again.

Can Frenchie Still Be Saved?

Brandon French's odds of surviving Big Brother Week 2 seem incredibly low. The only person really still fighting for him to remain in the house is Derek Frazier, and that's mainly because he hitched his horse to the wrong wagon in Week 1. Frenchie had Brent Champagne and Whitney Williams in his corner pre-nomination, but both quickly severed ties afterward, and Frenchie blaming them for the nomination did him no favors.

One interesting tactic is that Frenchie has spent Wednesday afternoon proposing an amended Slaughterhouse alliance. He's proposing to be in the group solely as a team player and a vote and resigned to let the alliance of Derek Frazier, Alyssa Lopez, Christian Birkenberger, Brent Champagne, Sarah Beth Steagall, Xavier Prather, and Tiffany Mitchell run the show. It's honestly not a bad offer because half of those people are at threat of eviction in the next couple of weeks, but it's a matter of whether they know it or not they see that. Tiffany is already pretty secure with some key alliances in the house, so I wouldn't be surprised to see her back out of this offer.

Even with that in the works, I would think would take a pretty substantial implosion or complacency by Britini D'Angelo in the final two days before the vote for Frenchie to have any chance at survival. Even then, I think the worst that would happen is that Britini would make herself an easy nominee choice in Week 3, and Frenchie would still be sent packing. No one is really willing to go to bat to keep Frenchie at this point, and in their defense, he's given them little reason to.

Another x-factor I think Big Brother fans should look at is whether or not Frenchie goes scorched Earth during his final days in the house. So far, he's played things pretty low-key and has an enticing game plan to stay. I absolutely believe that could change on a dime, though, and Frenchie's threat to potentially expose other games or alliances could absolutely cause some chaos and get him sent home pretty quickly with some lasting damage to people's alliances. Will it happen? We'll just have to wait and see how things unfold.
