Spoiler alert! The following contains spoilers for episodes of Katie Thurston’s season of The Bachelorette that have not aired yet, so tread carefully if you don’t want to learn reported details about the end of Katie’s journey.

All season, we’ve seen The Bachelorette's promos teasing a dramatic fight toward the end of this season, where Katie Thurston storms off, telling producers to book her a flight home. While the editing purposefully makes it nearly impossible to tell who has Katie so riled up, we now have some alleged details about the blow-up, and things are about to get really messy between Katie and one of her final four hopefuls.

Greg Grippo, longtime frontrunner, is apparently the man on the other end of Katie Thurston’s tears. Reality Steve, resident Bachelor Nation spoiler du jour, revealed on his blog that the cause of the drama is reportedly centered around Greg’s well-established insecurity over Katie dating multiple men. (That’s ki-i-ind of the whole premise of the show, Greg, c’mon!) It's presumed that Greg must have received some kind of confirmation that he’d be the last man standing, and during an off day in between filming fantasy suite dates, Greg visited Katie to state his displeasure over her continuing to go on those dates. Here's how the situation is described:

The fight happens during a day off between overnight dates, Greg is having a real hard time understanding why she’d want to be with anyone else, and it escalates from there. So much so I’ve been told ‘it’s the worst fight we’ve ever seen on this show.’ … Both were crying, both were raising their voices, and it’s a giant shit show.

That theorizing certainly makes sense after rewatching the promo, as Greg Grippo is also shown in seemingly another moment cursing and walking away from the cameras, while in a location that looks similar to where Katie Thurston is at when she asks for that flight home. Also, given Greg’s discomfort with the multiple boyfriends thing, he must have really, really hated the thought of Katie having sex with other guys in the fantasy suites (which she confirmed to ET that she definitely did). Enough to set up one of the worst Bachelorette fights ever, which is really saying something.

So was it Greg Grippo that Katie Thurston was referring to on The Viall Files podcast when she told host Nick Viall that there was a villain worse than Thomas Jacobs during her season? Reality Steve thinks so, saying the couple allegedly went back and forth for a long, long time.

Everything I’m hearing is that Greg’s exit from the show will not be pretty. It’s a meltdown apparently. … This is basically a fight that they have. A fight that kinda goes back and forth. He talks to her, leaves, then she goes to talk to him, then one storms off, and it just keeps going. I’ve been told the two of them kept going back and forth at each other ‘for hours.’

Wow, if Reality Steve and his sources are to be believed, that sounds both intense and exhausting, and it’s terrible that Katie Thurston would have to defend herself for hours for dating multiple men on a show whose specific purpose is for her to date multiple men. It definitely hasn't been an easy road for Katie. On top of having possibly one of the worst fights in Bachelorette history, Katie also had to deal with contestants in her final four getting called out for past social media comments, which Justin Glaze apologized for last week on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast. But we can all breath a sigh of relief that — according to the rumors — she gets her happy ending!

Tune in to The Bachelorette to watch it all go down as Katie Thurston continues her journey to find love. The Bachelorette airs at 8 p.m. Mondays on ABC. Also, while we wait for the premiere of Bachelor in Paradise Season 7, be sure to check out our 2021 Summer TV schedule.
