Knowing What We Know About Travis Barker, It's Weird Seeing Kourtney Kardashian’s Fam Encourage Her To Take Back Scott Disick

Keeping up with the Kardashians is ending after this season, which means the cast has already wrapped on filming their final episodes and has moved on to the next phases in their lives. It also means the surreal experience of seeing heavily publicized events in the news play out on TV months later is almost over. But until then we have to sit through some cringe-y scenes featuring Kris Jenner telling Kourtney Kardashian that Scott Disick is the one she should grow old with -- when we all know full and well the eldest Kardashian sister is going to be hot and heavy with Travis Barker soon.

In new footage from the final season of Keeping up with the Kardashians on E!, Kourtney Kardashian and Kris Jenner are reminiscing over some old pictures--including a throwback look at Kourtney with Scott Disick. It prompts Jenner to just politely mention that maybe long-term it would be a beautiful thing for Kourtney to give the father of her kids another chance.

Listen, there’s nothing I’d love to see more than to see you live your life and grow old with someone. Be happy and content and peaceful. And, it would always be so fabulous if it was the dad of your children, you know?

Kourtney Kardashian promptly manages to push off her mom’s comment with a couple of quick quips and changes the subject, but it’s just super strange to see how recently these conversations were happening giving Kourtney Kardashian’s whirlwind romance with Travis Barker. You can check out the full clip below.

Where Kourtney Kardashian Is At Now With New Partner Travis Barker

Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker had been friends for a long time, but they only started seeing each other publicly with some Instagram flirting in February--though eagle-eyed fans had spotted the two seemingly at the same location in Palm Springs in January of this year. To give you some context, Kylie Jenner and some of the other Kardashians wrapped up their final scenes in Keeping up with the Kardashians also in January of this year so a lot of things seem to have been happening around the same time. Thus, it’s unclear to me exactly how Kourtney’s story will wrap as she says goodbye to reality TV (for now).

In the time since, there’s been plenty of Internet drama over the relationship from Travis Barker’s ex Shannon Moakler. Scott Disick -- allegedly -- is a little “skeptical” about Kourtney moving on, though it’s worth noting he has a new partner in Amelia Hamlin, as well. Time passes and things change, but some things -- including Kardashian drama -- do tend to remain.

The romance has been a whirlwind one, with Travis Barker opening up about dating Kourtney and there being a “maturity” there because both of them know how to keep a romance going but also take their roles as parents seriously. They’ve also been intense in their flirting online, with Kourtney Kardashian once sending a love note, part of which read “may we destroy each other completely.” Other posts have shown shared moments and more.

Of course, it's also worth noting at the end of the scene from Keeping up with the Kardashians Kourtney Kardashian makes it clear that she and Scott have talked privately and she’s not really on the same page with her famous mother regarding the matter. So, I suppose what happened next with Travis Barker shouldn’t have come as too much of a surprise. Still, seeing these moments play out and knowing what comes next has always been a trip and I can’t wait to see how the dots get connected and how the show ultimately ends.

New episodes of Keeping up with the Kardashians air on Thursday nights only on E!. To see what else is heading to television this summer, take a look at our full TV premiere schedule.
