The Witcher's Henry Cavill Politely Asks Fans To Stop Trolling His New Relationship

Henry Cavill is one of the most popular actors in Hollywood and, while there's a lot of adoration that comes with that title, there is a downside. The Witcher star recently had to address the latter on his social media and directly addressed those of his fans who had been trolling his new relationship with Natalie Viscuso.

Henry Cavill and Natalie Viscuso went public with their relationship a month ago but, apparently, the backlash from a select number of his fans has been so intense he had to address it on his social media. The post was quite lengthy, though, in one specific bit, Cavill directly addressed the people showering his page and the internet with assumptions about his relationship and asked them to back off as politely as possible:

I know it can be fun to speculate, to gossip, and to dive into our own personal echo chambers on the internet, but your "passion" is misplaced, and it causes harm to the people I care about most. Even your most conservative of negative assumptions about both my personal and professional life just aren't true. Let's embrace this age of social enlightenment together, and move forward with positivity.

Ahead of that statement, Henry Cavill stated that while he appreciated support from fans, the fact that he had to even address the negativity towards his relationship with Natalie Viscuso was evidence enough that folks had taken it too far. Cavill removed the ability for anyone to comment on the post, perhaps assuming that with any support and positivity would come some trolling as well.

Comments have ranged from playful to vicious online in regards to Henry Cavill and Natalie Viscuso's relationship. Some fans like to joke that their lives are over now that Cavill is in a happy relationship, and others have taken things a step beyond that. Comments can be found online that accuse Viscuso of using Cavill to boost her own star power in Hollywood. Others have even gone so far as to say the two's relationship is one big faked stunt crafted by his PR team, claiming that the couple's selfies are doctored or unnatural. Cavill posted a selfie with Viscuso below in his statement, which noted that he's "very happy in love":

Natalie Viscuso is the vice president of television and digital studios at Legendary Entertainment, the same company attached to two key Henry Cavill movies: Man of Steel and Enola Holmes (which recently received a sequel announcement). The two went Instagram official April 10, 2021, just days after they were spotted walking Cavill's dog together. Unfortunately, it seems the fan response to the relationship did create some light turmoil, but the two hopefully can move forward now that Cavill has cleared the air with fans.

On a different note, Henry Cavill's The Witcher is expected to debut Season 2 on Netflix sometime towards the end of 2021. Check back for details on the series in the meantime, especially since it seems like the first look at Season 2 isn't that far off.
