How Legacies Just Went Full Circle With Its Latest Landon Twist

Landon looking devious Legacies

Warning! The following contains spoilers for the Legacies episode "You Can't Run From Who You Are." Read at your own risk!

Just when it seemed like Legacies had finally moved away from constantly putting Landon's life on the line, we're seemingly right back to where we started with the character. The end of the latest episode raised the question of whether or not Landon is truly alive or if the person who had returned and had spent the past couple of weeks with Hope is truly Landon.

Salvatore's token nerd Wade revealed to Hope that he has had his suspicions about Landon for some time but felt more sure about his theory after she was possessed by that prison world monster. Her possession ended when Landon stabbed her in the heart, something Wade claimed the real Landon would've never done even if he knew it would've saved her. That, combined with some other key details about Landon forgetting things he wouldn't have prior to their journey to the prison world, definitely concerned Hope. It appears she'll investigate that further in the next episode, "I Was Made To Love You," so read up on what's ahead in the synopsis below.

Hope's (Danielle Rose Russell) suspicion is piqued after Wade (guest star Elijah B. Moore) shares some startling news with her. To uncover the secrets of a mysterious artifact, Alaric (Matthew Davis) must work with an enemy from his past. After Ethan (Leo Howard) finds himself in harm's way, MG (Quincy Fouse) is forced to make a difficult decision.

There are not a lot of clues in the synopsis about what Legacies has in store for viewers, but what about the episode title? Is Landon, or whatever is posing as Landon, merely something that was created specifically to bait Hope into some trap? I'm not sure, but I have suspected in the past that the person who returned from the dead was not Landon. In the past, I speculated that Malivore took his son's spot on Earth somehow, which had some pretty disgusting implications given Landon's romantic involvement with Hope.

It seems that possibility is still on the table, though did any other Legacies fan feel it was strange that The Necromancer was nowhere to be found when Landon and Hope went to the prison world? I mean, we saw Landon knock out The Necromancer to escape the Prison World ice cream shop the two were in for a while, but is it possible some things happened after that we completely missed?

Either this Landon isn't who he says he is, or Wade and Hope just got a little paranoid and Landon is completely fine. I mean, Landon did go through a lot the past couple of seasons. One couldn't exactly blame him for being a bit off his game.

Hopefully, more answers are on the way in future episodes of Legacies, which airs on The CW Thursdays at 9:00 p.m. ET. As the show prepares for what could be another character exit, fans have questioned whether or not other characters who have left are gone for good.
