Sounds Like Breaking Bad’s Bryan Cranston Is Trying To Avoid Better Call Saul Spoilers Ahead Of The Final Season

Even celebrities try to avoid spoilers of TV shows every once in a while! The final season of Breaking Bad spinoff prequel Better Call Saul is expected to premiere sometime in the first quarter of 2022 and while that seems like a long ways away, one Breaking Bad alum is already trying to avoid spoilers!

Bryan Cranston, who portrayed Walter White in Breaking Bad, participated in Conversations At Home for the SAG-AFTRA Foundation and spoke about his feelings for the spinoff, which is approaching its sixth and final season. The actor mentioned that whenever he gets together with show creator Vince Gilligan, he has to tell him to not tell him anything that’s going to happen. Cranston explained:

Well, I’m a fan of Better Call Saul, and I am thoroughly happy just being a fan of the show. In fact, when I get together with Vince [Gilligan], I have to say, ‘Don’t slip up and don’t tell me anything that’s going to happen. I don’t want to have it spoiled, my viewing experience. And he laughs, but I’m serious. I want to enjoy the show like any audience member.

That doesn’t count Bryan Cranston out of the final season of Better Call Saul for sure, however. He said if Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould told him they wanted Walter White to make an appearance in the final season, Cranston would do it, no questions asked. Though Cranston doesn’t have a “burning desire” to play Walter White again since his story was complete, he trusts that Gilligan and Gould know what they’re doing with Better Call Saul for the show’s final season. But he’s fine either way, being able to enjoy the series as an audience member and fan.

Last year, Vince Gilligan mentioned how Better Call Saul will have a better finale than Breaking Bad, which ended in 2013 after five seasons. The statement is saying a lot, as many have referred to the finale of Breaking Bad as one of television’s all-time greatest finales. Even though Season 6 is still a year away, there is plenty of time to figure out just how the series will end.

Better Call Saul develops Jimmy McGill, an earnest lawyer and former con man, into greedy criminal defense attorney Saul Goodman. There is also the moral decline of retired police officer Mike Ehrmantraut, who becomes closely affiliated with the Juarez drug cartel to support his family. The series premiered on AMC in February 2015, with the final season expected to air sometime in early 2022. It stars Bob Odenkirk, Jonathan Banks, Rhea Seehorn, and more.
