Candace Cameron Bure Has Blunt Thoughts For People Who Think Doing Hallmark Movies Is Easy

If you grew up in the 1980s or 1990s, Candace Cameron Bure will always be Full House’s D.J. Tanner but, in recent years, she's become known for her work on the Hallmark Channel. On any given day, you can catch the actor on one or both Hallmark networks, and she's been putting in work for the brand for a while. Unfortunately, because of the playful nature of Hallmark movies, people assume they’re relatively easy to do. And Bure recently gave some blunt thoughts on that opinion.

Candace Cameron Bure is the undisputed queen of Hallmark Channel movies. Whether it's Hallmark holiday movies or the Aurora Teagarden Mysteries film series, it feels like viewers can find Cameron Bure on the channel almost 24 hours a day. Former ABC News correspondent Paula Faris recently interviewed the actor for her podcast, The Paul Faris Podcast. She spoke on a variety of topics, including working on Hallmark Channel films and, when asked how difficult the films are to do, Bure was honest:

Can we just talk about this for a second? “I get that all the time. ‘How hard is it to be in a Hallmark movie?’ Like, ‘Can I be in a Hallmark movie?’ And I’m like, ‘Are you a professional actor?’ ‘No.’ ‘Then no, you cannot.’

Candace Cameron Bure’s candor about doing Hallmark movies put in perspective how much time and effort goes into doing the work year after year. What made the conversation between her and Paula Faris even better was that the two women are friends after being co-hosts on ABC’s The View for two seasons, meaning Bure was truly able to be honest with her.

As Candace Cameron Bure mentioned in the podcast, she's been in 26 Hallmark Channel films in total. Some of her most notable fare is centered on the Christmas season as she has starred in nine of them during her Hallmark stint. Her most well-known Hallmark role is that of librarian and part-time sleuth Aurora Teagarden in the Aurora Teagarden Mysteries film series. With this franchise, the actor usually appears in at least one to two Aurora Teagarden movies per year.

Within her partnership with Hallmark, Candace Cameron Bure has also been doing work behind the scenes. In addition to starring in films, she's served as an executive producer on a number of them.

Of course, Candace Cameron Bure has done more than Hallmark films over the past few years, as she also starred in the Netflix revival Fuller House from 2015 to 2020. After more than four decades in Hollywood, Cameron Bure has managed to stay very busy whether it be through Hallmark movies or other projects, and it's something her fans are likely pleased with. And the fact that she makes the work seem so easy speaks to her abilities as an actor. If you want to watch see Cameron Bure’s work, you can catch the Aurora Teagarden Mysteries on Hallmark Movies and Mysteries or the Hallmark Channel.
