The Voice's Blake Shelton Has One Goal For Himself Before Tying The Knot With Gwen Stefani

Blake Shelton The Voice NBC

Shortly after the news broke that Gwen Stefani successfully annulled her previous marriage, it sounds like the pop singer will finally wed country star and The Voice coach Blake Shelton soon. While Stefani seems to have her ducks in a row for the big day, Shelton said he still has some things he wants to do. Specifically, he wants to drop some weight he gained during COVID-19, around 20 pounds if he can do it.

Blake Shelton recently appeared as a guest on Party Barn Radio with Luke Bryan and chatted with his friend about his upcoming big day. Luke Bryan asked Shelton on a scale of 1 to 10 if he intended to lose weight before his wedding, and after a moment of hesitation, Shelton answered.

I feel like if I say 10, I have to do it. So, 10. It's out there now, I can't let people down.

It sounds like Blake Shelton has put on some pounds over the past year, which is understandable given that 2020 didn't offer many alternatives to sitting at home throughout the day. Luke Bryan confirmed that he has put on some weight as well, noting that he no longer needs a belt to hold his jeans up.

As for how Blake Shelton intends to lose weight, The Voice coach didn't share, but he does have a remedy for handling his weight gain in the meantime. Sometimes it's all about perspective, and in the spirit of that, Shelton has shifted his perspective in a way that makes him see himself in a new way, literally.

I've readjusted all the mirrors in the house. So they look like you when you're taking a selfie from up above because you can't even stand and look at myself in the mirror. I've rearranged them or they're kind of angled down, looking down at me so I'm looking up and it's not so bad.

Jokes aside, it appears it's full steam ahead for Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani's wedding, despite the fact that the latter ended up beating her future husband in Season 19 of The Voice. Official plans for the wedding have not been explicitly revealed, though sources report that Shelton built a chapel on his Oklahoma ranch where the two will wed, while other sources say that Stefani's recent annulment shows her intention to be married in the eyes of the Catholic Church, so it's assumed a priest will be leading the ceremony. The two have not revealed an official date for their wedding.
