The Talk’s Eve Says An Emotional Goodbye After Four Seasons On The Show

Eve on The Talk

As the COVID-19 pandemic has restricted travel worldwide, the situation has caused many to re-evaluate their priorities. One such person has been entertainer and The Talk co-host Eve. Since early 2020, the rapper has been filming remotely, leading to her departure announcement in November. Now, after four seasons of The Talk, the entertainer gave an emotional goodbye on her final episode.

Eve’s departure came at a time where she and the show came to a crossroads. She is currently living in the U.K. with her husband, Maximillion Cooper, while the show tapes in Los Angeles. With travel out the question, the rapper has been taking part in the show from a set in London. The situation eventually couldn’t work out, as she wanted to spend more time with her husband and expand her family. In the December 18, 2020 episode, the rapper and actress said her final goodbye (shared on The Talk's YouTube channel) to her co-hosts and audience:

I truly, genuinely, for real, love you. I’ve been so lucky and so thankful to be a part of this show. I’ve learned from each of you ladies. You have been beyond supportive. I was so scared to call you to tell you that I was leaving because I was like I don’t want to leave. It’s the hardest thing. It’s a very bittersweet…It was the most beautiful feeling to feel supported and loved.

During her final words as a host, Eve took the time to thank not only her fellow hosts but to express her gratitude to the producers, crew and fans. The rapper started getting emotional as the episode ended:

I’ve gotten so many beautiful messages. I’ve gotten nothing but support and I’ve always only gotten love and support every time I’ve come to set. I am grateful. I will be forever grateful. And like I said, this is not goodbye, this is, I’ll see you later and thank you!

During Eve’s emotional goodbye, co-host Sharon Osbourne spoke on how her kids told her nothing but positive things before the entertainer joined the daytime talk show. She even gave Eve some words of encouragement, as reported by Entertainment Tonight:

You are open about yourself, you care so much about what goes on in the world. You care so much about your community. And I feel that whatever your next steps, whatever they are, it's not just going to be making a record and touring, you’re going to do much more than that Eve Cooper. You're unstoppable right now.

Eve’s departure comes only months after Marie Osmond left the show in September after being a co-host for one season. In both cases, it seems the show’s location and the women’s priorities and locations did not work out. The rapper had joined The Talk in November 2017 after actress and comedian Aisha Tyler left The Talk after six seasons. She and Osmond are being replaced by Broadway star Amanda Kloots and journalist Elaine Welteroth. Hopefully, Eve's next step allows her to branch out and do other things while also giving her a chance to spend that time with her family.
