After Ms. Marvel, It Looks Like Another One Of Disney+’s MCU Shows Is About To Start Filming

While Marvel Studios is still cranking out plenty of films, the company is also firing on all cylinders when it comes to their upcoming, small-screen ventures. Shows like WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Loki are all currently in different stages of production. The most recent show to kick off filming is Ms. Marvel, which just started shooting in Atlanta. Now, it would appear that the cameras are about to start rolling on another one of Disney+’s Marvel Cinematic Universe shows, and fans are sure to be excited by it.

Marvel and Disney+’s Hawkeye appears to be the next show to start filming. The Verge’s Chris Welch shared that the show, which was previously reported to be filming under the working title Anchor Point, is set to shoot in Brooklyn next week. In a Twitter post, he included a screenshot of a flyer confirming the news. Check it out below:

It makes sense that Hawkeye would finally be gearing up for production, as series star Jeremy Renner has been teasing fans lately with a few social media videos that appeared to show his training for the show. These brief check-ins seem to indicate that the Marvel veteran is ready to don his iconic bow and arrows once again.

Based on the little we know about Hawkeye, it also makes sense that the Disney+ series would be filming in Brooklyn. The show is set to draw heavily from Matt Fraction’s Hawkeye comics run (even down to the logo) and, in that series, the famous marksman was based in Brooklyn. While there, he finds trouble in the form of the Tracksuit Mafia, though it’s currently unclear as to whether they’ll appear on the show.

One aspect of the series that has fans most excited is the introduction of Kate Bishop, a young archer who Clint Barton takes under his wing. By training her, Barton hopes to make the young woman a better version of himself. Reports have linked actress Hailee Steinfeld to the role, though neither Marvel Studios nor Disney+ have confirmed this.

In addition to bringing Kate Bishop to the MCU, Hawkeye will also explore a bit more of Clint Barton’s time as Ronin during the five-year gap established in Avengers: Endgame. Rumors are also circulating that the show may take another cue from Fraction and focus on Clint Barton’s hearing loss, which (if true) could make for a compelling subplot for the series.

Fans have been waiting a while for updates on Hawkeye, and it’s exciting that the show is finally about to kick things off in earnest. There are still a number of questions to consider ahead of its premiere, but it’s going to be fun to speculate about them before we finally get to see Clint Barton and Kate Bishop join forces.
