Quarantine has made a lot of changes to people’s day-to-day lives, and for many of the people spending more time than ever at home, life has gotten a whole lot more pantless. (There's even a Snickers ad about this.) While some of us have chosen the sweatpants life, others have opted to forego pants entirely, and that seems to be how Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello roll at home.
After spending some time apart over the last month, the two lovebirds seem to have been able to reconnect and spend some time together at the tail end of October. Shawn Mendes revealed a look at himself and his partner hanging out in a cozy kitchen. The musician’s caption on the post was “reina,” the Spanish word for queen.
The “Wonder” singer had briefly been open about his home life with Camila Cabello earlier in quarantine. Earlier in 2020, it hadn't yet been made clear that Shawn Mendes and Cabello were even an item, at least until they seemingly showed they were social isolating together during Lady Gaga’s quarantine special One World Together at Home. During the special, their performance of “What A Wonderful World” was a highlight.
But living in a bubble eventually came to an end and the couple more recently had to get back to work and do their own thing for a time. He told Sirius XM earlier in October that he hadn’t seen Camila Cabello in “a month and two weeks” also adding on “not that I’m counting.” He mentioned at the time she’d be back soon and from the looks of Shawn Mendes’ most recent month, they are finally getting back to into a home routine.
Shawn Mendes also said recently during the SiriusXM interview with Jim Ryan and Nicole Ryan that he really should have credited Camila Cabello for her help on “Wonder.” The two started out spending time and having casual fun together, but as has happened with a lot of things in 2020, their relationship escalated quickly due to the time they were able to spend together and the challenges they faced.
There was like a real time when she was doing her thing and then I was doing my thing and we were together, but like, also working separately and the quarantine brought us together and now we've kind of become one, where we're doing our thing. And it's really interesting how that dynamic changes when, especially when your girlfriend's a writer and a musician and she's incredible, you have two options. You can be really scared and intimidated or you can be like, 'Oh, I should probably ask you for some help or like what you think.
So, from the looks and sounds of things, the previously fun and flirty relationship between Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello has escalated into something more serious, sentimental and sometimes pants-free. We’ll be sure to keep you updated as the couple moves forward with their careers and their relationship, but in the meantime I really hope Lady Gaga plans another musical event so we can see a little more about what their lives are like at home.
