There are some days a person never forgets in life, and for many, the first time seeing Baby Yoda has to rank up there. For The Mandalorian star Pedro Pascal, the memory of the seismic event remains sharp as ever, as he recently shared how he reacted to first seeing The Mandalorian fan-favorite character. Pascal may be the star of the Disney+ series, but like everyone else, he had the similar reaction to Baby Yoda that the fans had.

The actor was all too happy to discuss the moment he set eyes on Baby Yoda. It is a development that Pedro Pascal has recalled before, when he acknowledged his expectation that Baby Yoda would create quite the reaction. Pascal’s assertion was accurate as Baby Yoda mania dominated the final months of 2019 and beyond with rapt attention. On seeing The Mandalorian’s storyboard and glimpsing Baby Yoda for the first time, Pascal more recently recalled:

Literally, my eyes following left to right, up and down, and, boom, Baby Yoda close to the end of the first episode. That was when I was like, ‘Oh, yep, that’s a winner.’

You got that right. Ever since the first season of The Mandalorian arrived, Baby Yoda has been everywhere and on almost everything. He finally got toys, and when the coronavirus pandemic made masks a must-have, Baby Yoda was there to offer the cute face-covering fans needed. At this point, it is safe to say that the force is strong in Baby Yoda’s popularity, as Pedro Pascal had predicted it to be prior to this interview with Variety. In fact, he seemed more pumped to talk about Baby Yoda than his character in the series.

It's no wonder, given Baby Yoda is everywhere. Did I mention he has also gotten the cereal treatment? Not every Star Wars veteran, of course, is in love with The Child. Frank Oz, had indicated he has not been entirely wooed by Baby Yoda yet, but the rest of the world has rallied around the pint-sized character. It is not as if Baby Yoda has hoarded all of the world’s cuteness attention though.

More recently, Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous’ Bumpy got a “bump” from Baby Yoda’s extravagant response, so he is a giver in that regard. For Pedro Pascal, the good times with Baby Yoda are only continuing as fans anticipate the second season of The Mandalorian. There should be more incredible times for Pascal’s Mando and his mega-star companion. A little over a month away, the Season 2 trailer has helped fans manage the wait.

There is more good news. Or at least the hope of some. Pedro Pascal may be in costume a bit more in Season 2, as we previously reported. Meanwhile, fans can count on seeing the adorable face of Baby Yoda courtesy of the outstanding puppetry department. He and Mando will be back for more action and adventure when the Disney+ series returns.

It is not in a galaxy too far, far away now. The Mandalorian’s first season is currently streaming on Disney+ and Season 2 will arrive towards the end of this month on Friday, October 30 as one of this fall’s premieres.
