Will Smith And The Cast Tour The Fresh Prince House As Smith Shares Feelings About The Experience

The cast of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is a television classic that is still widely popular among viewers and, as the show celebrates the 30th anniversary of its debut, people are finding fun ways to mark the occasion. Most recently, Airbnb offered fans the chance to book a night in the mansion used for the original series. With this, Fresh Prince alums Will Smith, DJ Jazzy Jeff and the rest of the cast took a tour of the enormous house, with Smith sharing his thoughts on the experience.

Will Smith and DJ Jazzy Jeff were the first two arrive at the still-glorious mansion and were able to check out how the place has been remodeled for guests. The massive home has been altered to resemble sets from the original series, such as Will and Carlton’s pool house. The mansion also comes equipped with sweet nods to the show like clothes reminiscent of Will’s signature attire and a wonderful portrait of the late James Avery, who played Uncle Phil on the show.

The two were later joined by fellow co-stars Tatyana Ali, Karyn Parsons, Daphne Maxwell Reid and Joseph Marcell. And just like their two colleagues, the group couldn’t help but get caught up in the nostalgia of being in the mansion.

During the visit, Smith took a moment to point out how beautiful the home is and admit that he would like to have the place for himself:

Alright, I’ll stay. I know it’s supposed to be for other people, but I need this for myself. To drive up, to walk through the door, to go in, yeah it has beautiful nostalgic value.

As a longtime fan of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, I can honestly say I would jump at the chance to spend a night or two in the famous television house. Unfortunately, the opportunity is only available to residents of Los Angeles County. Well, at the very least, we can live vicariously through the original YouTube video that details the cast’s tour. You can check it out for yourself down below:

Thankfully, there are other ways that fans will be able to get in on the fun of Fresh Prince’s 30th anniversary. The cast recently filmed a reunion special that’s set to air on HBO Max, and the first images alone are enough to give you your fill of nostalgia for a day. And of course, Smith will also be returning to executive produce a dramatic reboot of the series entitled Bel-Air.

The world is currently experiencing a bit of Fresh Prince mania, and I’m not mad at it one bit. The fact that so many people still enjoy this classic sitcom is a sweet sight, and what’s even better is that the recent festivities give the cast the opportunity to catch up and make more memories together.

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is currently available to stream on HBO Max.
