WWE Vet Marty Jannetty's Alleged Murder Confession Being Investigated By Police

Marty Jannetty WWE

A WWE icon is under investigation after he seemingly revealed on social media that he could have murdered someone decades ago. Marty Jannetty, who has been a presence in major organizations such as the WWE, WCW, and ECW throughout his decades-long career, is now under investigation by the police department in Columbus, Georgia after a shocking statement allegedly made by the wrestler in a now-deleted Facebook.

It all started when Marty Jannetty, who was memorably one-half of the WWE tag team The Rockers alongside wrestling legend Shawn Michaels, apparently decided to share a secret with the world on his social media. The startling and rambling confession, as it were, chillingly recalled a night in which Jannetty allegedly murdered a man for the "first time."

I never told no one this, even my brother Geno...because Geno would've killed him, and I didn't want my brother gone. Hell, he'd only recently come home from Vietnam. I was 13, working at Victory Lanes bowling alley buying weed from a fag that worked there...and he put his hands on me. He dragged me around to the back of the building...you already know what he was gonna try to do. That was the very first time I made a man disappear, they never found him. They should've looked in the Chattahoochie River but Winnie (the girl in these pics) I likes you so damn much, probably my favorite, but I promised myself way back then nobody would ever hurt me again. That includes you. I loved you but you hurt me with your fucking Jamaican jealousy. You can go your own way, I don't need you.

TMZ has spoken to the Columbus, Georgia, police department who said they will be looking into Marty Jannetty's claims to see if they link up with any homicides or missing-person reports from around that time period. If the now 60-year-old Jannetty was 13 at the time the crime happened, the incident in question would've happened in 1973. The post has since been removed from the former wrestler's page, but screenshots of it are still circulating the Internet.

Marty Jannetty has had a history with law enforcement going as far back as his wrestling days, and he has publicly admitted (also on social media) that he suffers from drug and alcohol abuse issues. A quick glimpse through Jannetty's Facebook account will show that the wrestler often makes several bold and controversial statements.

The wrestler even went viral back in 2017 for asking fans if it would be ok to have sexual relations with a woman who was proven through DNA testing to be his daughter, though Jannetty later alleged (via New York Post) that the post had been made by hackers. Could that be the case here, too?

Though Marty Jannetty was positioned to be as big a superstar as living legend Shawn Michaels, his career within WWE was cut short due to trouble with the law. Shortly after the high-profile breakup of The Rockers, Jannetty was given 6 months of house arrest for attacking a police officer (via The Armpit). A similar event occurred on Jannetty's third return to WWE, in which he was again released not long after making that comeback, following another arrest (via Bleacher Report). Jannetty made cameos in the years that followed, but never anything that would turn into a substantial run within the organization.
