Netflix’s On My Block And Disney Star Ronni Hawk Arrested For Domestic Violence

Ronni Hawk as Olivia on On My Block (2018)

Ronni Hawk, who’s best known for her roles on Netflix’s On My Block and Disney Channel’s Stuck in the Middle, has been arrested for domestic violence. The 20-year-old actress was taken to Van Nys jail last Friday and is currently facing a felony charge.

According to TMZ, law enforcement received a call to a home for a domestic disturbance on the morning of July 31. When the officers arrived on the scene, they reported seeing a man with visible injuries, including scratches.

The cops also made mention of a verbal argument between Ronni Hawk and her boyfriend, which eventually turned into a physical altercation. Based on the injuries sustained by Hawk’s boyfriend, law enforcement reasoned that she should be taken into custody.

The actress was booked that same morning at 11:36 a.m., with her bail set at $100,000. Hawk would be released later that day on bond. As of right now, she is scheduled to appear in court on December 11, though no additional details have been shared at this time. E! attempted to reach Hawk’s reps for a statement but have not heard back as of this writing.

Originally hailing from Florida, Ronnie Hawk began a career in modeling at the age of 12 before her coach suggested that she move into acting. She soon began appearing in commercials and, eventually, she and her family moved to Los Angeles so that she could pursue a career.

Ronni Hawk first gained television recognition through her role as Rachel Diaz on Stuck in the Middle. Hawk would remain on the show for two of its three seasons before stepping down as a regular cast member. She would, however, return for a guest appearance during the third season. While her exact reason for leaving is unclear, it may have had something to do with the her taking on her next job.

In 2018, Hawk would gain further recognition for her role as Olivia during the first season of the critically acclaimed Netflix dramedy On My Block. The character comes to live with one of the show’s main protagonists, Ruby, after her parents are deported. Her character would ultimately be killed after the first season.

The decision to write out her character was one many viewers didn’t see coming and, with the ambiguous nature of her fate in the finale, many were left speculating what Olivia’s ultimate fate would be. Eventually, the show’s producers would explain that they always intended for Hawk to only remain on the show for a single season and that Olivia’s death was important to the development of the other characters.

When it comes to television, Hawk has also appeared on S.W.A.T. and Legacies. Aside from these, she has credits in short films.
