After Break-Up With Ryan Seacrest, Shayna Taylor Shares Feelings On Commitment

Ryan Seacrest and Shayna Taylor have had an on-again and off-again relationship for years. The two first started seeing one another in 2013 and split in 2014. A subsequent split came around in 2019, though they got back together shortly after. Then a statement from Ryan Seacrest during quarantine indicated the two had split again at the tail-end of June. Now, Taylor seems to be sharing her feelings on the matter.

Over on Instagram, the influencer shared a story with her 141,000 followers which was a repost of an account called Rising Woman. The post talked about commitment issues in relationships and how you can't change people, only yourself and your outlook on a relationship.

You will never need to convince the right person to love you. No matter what, you cannot change them, make them do the work, or get them to commit to you if they’re not ready to show up. Change must be inspired from within, and actions are always louder than words.

While she isn’t expressly pointing this out to Seacrest here, the fact the two recently broke up and also have not been able to full commit for years is enough for me to feel comfortable assuming this commentary is at least somewhat personal. One other point worth noting is that before this most recent break-up, Ryan Seacrest had talked on-air on Live with Kelly and Ryan about it only counting as his and Shayna Taylor’s third anniversary since they’d broken up so many times. Ouch. I’ve seen “Am I the Asshole” threads on Reddit about this before and they are not pretty people. Seriously, this is what Ryan Seacrest said live on the air:

I just want to say, happy third anniversary to Shayna. It is our third time together. So we've gotten together, broken up, gotten together, broken up. This is number three of being together. So we're celebrating as well. It's an 8-year run, but it's our third run together. So we celebrate each trial.

Ryan Seacrest is most often touted as a person who is devoted to his career. Even in quarantine he’s been hustling. He’s navigated having to film programs like Live with Kelly and Ryan and American Idol via video. He did seemingly have a health scare and had to also figure out how to explain it and also take a break from his gigs, but in general, he’s kept busy, busy, busy.

Quarantine has also been a big factor in celebrity break-ups and Ryan Seacrest and Shayna Taylor aren’t the only ones who have split. Probably the biggest celebrity break-up was Jay Cutler and Kristin Cavallari, who are divorcing after 10 years together. However, Julianne Hough and Brooks Laich also split, as did Dr. Dre and Nicole Young, and Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock.

It was in June that the popular TV and radio personality released a statement through a rep simply noting that the couple’s time together is done. Unlike other times when the two seemingly split, this time a statement like this makes it seem more official:

Ryan and Shayna decided to end their romantic relationship amicably some time ago. They remain good friends, each other’s biggest supporters and will always cherish their time together as a couple.

Shayna Taylor seems to be doing OK otherwise, however, sharing a Fourth of July story that showed her spending time on the beach. She has not released an official statement about the break-up, though she did admit that 2020 has been challenging in a lot of ways. Though her social media feeds might make her look perfect, she wants to make it clear she’s trying to focus on the positives.

Our thoughts go out to both Ryan Seacrest and Shayna Taylor as they navigate the waters of a public break-up. Meanwhile, while Taylor seems to be doing some soul-searching, Seacrest has apparently been spending time in Mexico with another woman, according to Page Six.
