Nick Cordero's Wife Finally Gets To Visit Him In The Hospital Months Into Ordeal

Nick Cordero has been through an unbelievable ordeal since getting diagnosed with COVID-19 in March. But, the Broadway star of shows like A Bronx Tale, Rock of Ages, and Bullets Over Broadway, who also spent some time on the CBS hit Blue Bloods recently, has certainly been lucky in at least one respect. He's had the complete support of his wife, Amanda Kloots. During Cordero's long health struggle, Kloots has been updating his fans on the actor's progress via social media, and she revealed that the couple has finally gotten the chance to visit in person for the first time since his hospitalization.

Cordero has now been in the hospital for well over two months. After initially being misdiagnosed and told he had pneumonia, by the time doctors realized he had the virus, he had to be admitted to the ICU, put on oxygen and then later resuscitated and put on dialysis to assist his kidneys. Since first being hospitalized, Cordero has rarely been out of the woods, and while Amanda Kloots has remained hopeful and used her Instagram feed to update people on his condition and keep the good vibes going for him, they have not been able to see each other face to face because of the seriousness of his health.

Now, though, Amanda Kloots has finally been able to visit with Nick Cordero at his bedside, and she shared an emotional post to let everyone know what the moment was like for them:

Man, it's good that they've actually gotten a chance to see one another in person after all this time. And, honestly, if you haven't teared up a little after looking at that picture of Kloots and Cordero holding hands, and reading through the very fitting lyrics she posted from singer Andy Grammer's song "Don't Give Up On Me," then I suppose you'll never tear up at anything, so at least you know that about yourself now.

As those who've been following Nick Cordero's long journey back to health might remember, the Tony Award nominee had to be put into a medically induced coma not long after being admitted to the ICU. He had a serious fight just to regain consciousness from that coma, because of the number of procedures and setbacks he'd had during that time, and the doctors couldn't figure out why he hadn't been able to wake up for so long.

Luckily, Cordero was able to wake up up by mid-May, but everything he'd gone through while in that coma, such as having his right leg amputated, having a temporary pacemaker put into his heart, and needing several procedures to try and clear a fungus from his lungs, have left him very weak. So, while he still has a very long way to go to be considered out of the woods (even though he's been COVID-19 negative for almost a month at this point) Cordero was able to have an official visit with his wife and was awake to see and interact with her.

Here's hoping that all the support and love that Amanda Kloots and her family and friends, as well as that of Nick Cordero's fans, have been able to bless him with soon pays off with even more good news.
