Parks and Recreation went off the air five years ago and, as you can imagine, there has been an interest in reviving the show for additional episodes. The series’ co-creator, Michael Schur, has weighed in on that possibility in the past. However, cut to Amy Poehler, and she says that she needs to binge-watch it to remember what it was about.

Amy Poehler made the somewhat surprising admission while appearing on Late Night with Seth Meyers. Meyers mentioned that Poehler’s sons were starting to watch the funny exploits of Parks and Recreation for the first time, and the boys have wanted to know what's ahead. Who doesn't like spoilers now and again? But Poehler explained that she could not recall the actual storylines, saying:

My kids are always like, 'Mom, what happens?' And I'm like, 'I don't know. I don't remember.’ I don't remember any of it. It's one long blur. I mean, I remember shooting the scenes and how I felt when I was shooting the scenes, but the actual story of episode to episode, I couldn't even tell you. So, it's pretty fun watching it.

Since Amy Poehler remembers filming the scenes, does she recall, I wonder, Chris Pratt eating all of those ribs in a single day for Parks and Recreation? That seems like something that would be hard to forget, but it was a while ago so who knows? It's important to keep in mind that while the fan-favorite went off the air in 2015, it originally debuted eleven years ago.

A decade is considerable! While she cannot recall certain things, the good news is that Amy Poehler sounds like a big fan of the show. Could this be a good sign for revival hopes? Stay tuned. Poehler did reveal that she has been sharing videos of her sons watching their mom’s series with the cast. It sounds like they are all as close as ever!

It also seems like Amy Poehler is enjoying a chance to really watch Parks and Recreation with fresh eyes. Getting a chance to watch something in quiet can help a viewer to really retain the contents of a movie or show. Could that be what Amy Poehler is experiencing with Parks and Recreation? Maybe. One thing that's for sure is she seems to be liking what she's seeing.

Amy Poehler commented on how Parks and Recreation “makes you feel good,” a notion she's not alone in feeling. CinemaBlend included the comedy as one of the best feel good shows to stream.

If you choose to watch it, keep an eye out for some major guest stars like Bill Murray, who cameoed during the show’s run. In addition, Parks and Recreation also predicted some future history in the form of an 18-year-old mayor. Needless to say, Amy Poehler has a lot to look forward to watching the show with her kids!

Parks and Recreation lives on thanks in large part to the presence of streaming services. The series is currently available to stream on Netflix along with lots of new 2020 arrivals. If you need other ideas for stuff to watch, you can check out this spring’s premieres.
