Only a couple episodes are left before Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago P.D. wrap for the 2019-2020 TV season, thanks to the coronavirus pandemic forcing the halt of production. Unfortunately for One Chicago fans, all three shows air reruns on the night of April 1 following an exciting batch of episodes last week, but all three will be back next week with brand new episodes that could be game-changers. Read on for the episode descriptions for the April 8 episodes of Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago P.D.!

Chicago Med - "Just A River In Egypt"

Chicago Med is coming off of an episode that packed a lot into one hour, with Maggie and Ben's honeymoon plans being delayed by a young boy in need, Natalie and Crockett clashing, April and Ethan struggling with the aftermath of her kiss with Crockett, Goodwin reuniting with her son, and Will entering into an ill-advised romantic relationship with the recovering Hannah. So, what's in store next?

Dr. Charles evaluates a 15-year old who is brought into the E.D. after an apparent fall off an overpass. Will sides with Dr. Asher on a risky treatment plan. Tensions run high between Dr. Choi and Dr. Marcel.

Well, based on the "Just A River In Egypt" title of the April 8 episode, I'm guessing somebody is in denial, and I'm guessing that person is Will if he continues to side with Hannah despite valid concerns about her. Those tensions between Choi and Marcel may result in a physical fight, based on the promo, and I can see Dr. Charles trying to figure out if his young patient is suicidal. This episode of Chicago Med airs Wednesday, April 8 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.

Chicago Fire - "Light Things Up"

The previous episode of Chicago Fire ended on a tragic note that proved (to me, anyway) that One Chicago needs to change in one key way, but that doesn't necessarily mean the next episode will have to be an hour of tragedy. Still, the episode description reveals that Fire won't be all what showrunner Derek Haas describes as "sunshine and roses." Here's what's happening:

Tension builds when a group of rabble-rousers attempt to lock down the firehouse. Brett is faced with a monumental decision. Cruz readies himself for a big day. Gallo and Ritter attempt to launch Firehouse 51 into the social media age.

Based on episode photos like the one seen above, Cruz will make it to his big day, but the trailer reveals that there will be some bloody bumps along the way. As for Brett's "monumental decision," it's likely related to the death of her biological mother and birth of her biological baby sister. Could Brett be in a place where she'd take in the baby to raise, or at least help Julie's mourning husband? Find out on April 8 at 9 p.m. ET with the next new episode of Chicago Fire.

Chicago P.D. - "Buried Secrets"

"Buried Secrets" will be Chicago P.D.'s first episode since sending Upton to FBI, so she won't have a part to play in the case of the week. Her absence would presumably impact Halstead and Rojas the most, but the description of the episode suggests that the focus of the episode will be on Ruzek and Burgess. Here's what's happening:

The clock is on after Ruzek witnesses a woman's kidnapping and the team races to put the pieces together. Burgess tries to connect with Ruzek outside of work but he mysteriously distances himself from her.

Intelligence will evidently be on the case of a kidnapping in "Buried Secrets," and footage from the episode reveals that the kidnapped woman is the daughter of a high-profile man in Chicago. There will apparently also be some Burzek complications. Interestingly, Burgess will seemingly be the one trying to make a connection while Ruzek is distant, which is pretty much the opposite of Season 7 since Burgess' brutal miscarriage. See what leads to the kidnapping and the complications with the "Buried Secrets" episode of Chicago P.D. airing April 8 at 10 p.m. ET on NBC.

If One Chicago follows its recent trends, these next episodes of Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago P.D. will crush in the ratings. Unfortunately, only two episodes are left before the three shows of One Chicago enter their early hiatuses.
