The Witcher's Henry Cavill Was Every Single Person's Superman With A Perfect Valentine's Day Post

Henry Cavill smiles as Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher Season 1 on Netflix

Oh Henry Cavill. It's not enough that Netflix's The Witcher star is already many fans' dream valentine. (See Bathtub Geralt.) Not enough that he's DC's Superman. Not enough that he has an adorable dog named Kal who is his sidekick (unless it's the other way around). Turns out, Cavill is somehow single himself and knew just what to say to all the other "single pringles" of the world on February 14:

Happy Kalentines Day to that lucky pup! Yes, Henry Cavill had a wise message for Valentine's Day. It's not just a day about romance, it's about love. Love of your fur babies, your family, friends, food (just me?), and yourself. Taika Waititi had the best Valentine's Day message about self-love but Henry Cavill took a wider scope to give hope to the world. It's what a superhero does.

By singling out fellow singles, Henry Cavill became the V-Day hero of all lonelyhearts -- and probably also charmed some people who are supposedly taken. Let's be honest: If Henry Cavill looked their way, I bet many a lady and gent would drop their significant others fairly quickly.

What's Henry Cavill's future as Superman? That is still unclear, since Warner Bros. never made a follow-up statement after saying no decisions had been made on Supe's future films. If The Snyder Cut is ever released, we can at least see Zack Snyder's vision of Cavill's black suit Superman. It sounds like Cavill is still open to return to the role of Superman, just not for that Shazam! cameo.

As for The Witcher? In early January 2020, Henry Cavill -- who is responsible for all of Geralt's grunting -- gave an update on Season 2 production. One recent Season 2 casting report has fans speculating about Geralt and Ciri possibly spending less time together than we hoped.

The Witcher Season 2 is planning some big changes, because it gives showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich an opportunity to correct any mistakes she felt were made in Season 1. The storylines should naturally be less confusing in Season 2 -- plus, even non-book readers won't be new to the story by the second season. Most fans seemed to love The Witcher, even if critics didn't quite feel the same. Season 1 was extremely popular, and Geralt of Rivia's fans are more than ready to toss a view to new episodes.

Watch single Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia now in The Witcher Season 1, with Season 2 set for filming very soon and a premiere at some point on Netflix. She currently lives in a small town in Maine, the kind Stephen King regularly sets terrible things in, so this may be the last you hear from her.
