Netflix's new series The Witcher is based on the book series by author Andrzej Sapkowski, and we know how he feels about Henry Cavill in the role of Geralt of Rivia. But a lot of fans got into the show through The Witcher video games. Voice-over actor Doug Cockle voices Geralt in the video game series. What does he think of The Witcher so far? Here goes...

Ok...finally saw all 8 episodes of @witchernetflix! I LOVE IT. The time jumps are challenging, but it all comes together in the end. The main characters are wonderfully played by a talented cast and the world is lovingly realised. Bring on series 2! #witchernetflix

Yes! The Witcher's video game actor Doug Cockle is a big fan of The Witcher Season 1, and he's ready for The Witcher Season 2, which Netflix has already renewed and should be filming not too long from now in 2020. However, he did mention the challenge of the time jumps. Having multiple timelines has also been a source of confusion for a few -- but not all -- fans who weren't already familiar with the characters from the books. Season 2 should be easier to follow.

Doug Cockle shared his thoughts on The Witcher via Twitter, and you can check him out in real life in this little video where he talks about his long career in voice-over acting:

If you're not familiar with The Witcher video games, get a taste of Doug Cockle in the role through this official gameplay video for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt; Cockle won the Golden Joystick Award for Best Gaming Performance for his portrayal of Geralt in this game:

As you can hear, the Geralt of Rivia in the video game doesn't sound the same as Henry Cavill's Geralt in The Witcher's Netflix series, and Cavill explained how he came up with the unique accent. The show also spent months on his wig. Cavill really threw himself into the role, dehydrating himself in an extreme diet to look good for those bathtub scenes and at one point he nearly blinded himself.

The Witcher showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich explained why certain changes were made from the books. Overall, fans really seem to love the show as much as the author and video game actor. Critics? Not so much. But Hissrich had a great response to the bad reviews. She hopes to keep the show going for many seasons, but it remains to be seen what Netflix will do. At the very least, The Witcher Season 2 is coming, and Mark Hamill wants in.
