The Mandalorian's Boom Mic Mistake In Episode 4 Gets Compared To Game Of Thrones' Coffee Cup

Pedro Pascal as The Mandalorian Chapter 4

The Mandalorian Episode 4 just had a little boom mic mistake that's being compared to Game of Thrones' coffee cup -- 'cause that infamous coffee cup error is the new set snafu trademark. It's like saying Kleenex when you want a tissue. Some people are even calling it the Starbucks cup, even though that's a mistake on its own since we've known for a while that that was not a Starbucks cup.

At any rate, the mistake in The Mandalorian is much more subtle than that Game of Thrones cup staring at us from the table in Winterfell. In fact, you have to have a really bright screen to see it at all. I missed it a few times until it was pointed out, and I saw in a video how the boom mic moved a bit:

That's no moon! Some fans really do have eagle eyes. The Mandalorian Season 1, Episode 4 dropped Friday, November 29, and that very day fans were talking about the boom mic. One guy created a whole video about it, after his wife noticed the boom mic on screen:

I have to agree with the first commenter:

How about that, if you're not paying any attention to the scene and you have your brightness turned all the way up you can kinda see a boom mic for a couple seconds.

Bryce Dallas Howard directed The Mandalorian Chapter 4, which gave the internet a perfect new Baby Yoda meme and introduced Gina Carano's Cara Dune. It also showed The Mandalorian (Pedro Pascal) bonding with a young widow named Omera (Julia Jones) on the planet Sorgan. And during one of Mando and Omera's chats, a boom mic apparently slipped into the frame.

Nobody's perfect! The Mandalorian's little oops probably wouldn't have gotten so much attention if it weren't for The Coffee Cup Seen 'Round The World. That Game of Thrones final season mistake wasn't the first time fans had spotted something extra on scene, and it wasn't the last. Game of Thrones even had water bottles in the finale.

Fans have been pointing out more such errors in past shows and movies and in real-time like for The Mandalorian's new episode. At least people are paying attention, even if the filmmakers would probably prefer they pay attention to the plot and characters. Maybe the boom mic wanted to be a character in the scene. Have you ever considered its dreams?

The Mandalorian will survive this tiny boom mic you have to fight to see. We did have some questions after Episode 4, but not about that. The Mandalorian Chapter 5 drops on Friday, December 6. According to Disney+, in the next episode, "The Mandalorian helps a rookie bounty hunter who is in over his head." Gina Carbone

Gina grew up in Massachusetts and California in her own version of The Parent Trap. She went to three different middle schools, four high schools, and three universities -- including half a year in Perth, Western Australia. She currently lives in a small town in Maine, the kind Stephen King regularly sets terrible things in, so this may be the last you hear from her.
