It is no secret that Yellowstone has been a massive hit for Paramount Network, and actor Cole Hauser (who plays Rip) thinks it could even more popular. Season 2 is now out on DVD and Blu-ray with a three-disc set filled with loads of extras. Proving Yellowstone’s popularity is on the rise, the ratings for the second season continued to build on its predecessor.
In fact, Season 2's ratings just kept climbing as it proved to be the cable show to beat. Those high ratings ultimately led to Yellowstone being summer’s number one TV show. You can now relive what everyone was watching on the Season 2 DVD and Blu-ray set. Asked how much larger he thinks Yellowstone could get, Cole Hauser told me:
Oh god, I think the world is its oyster. Obviously in the last two years, it's been successful. But I think as people and Paramount becomes a bigger network as far as television, and the PR and the promotion is properly done, I think the show has a chance to do as much as 10 to 12 million views a week. I think it's that good.
If Cole Hauser’s prediction comes true, it would mean Yellowstone doubling its current audience. For Season 2, the modern-set Western averaged 5.1 million viewers an episode in Live+3 day calculations. Now that it has two seasons under its belt and with Season 2 out on DVD and Blu-ray, its popularity should only increase. Between the two seasons so far, prospective viewers are going to have a chance to binge almost 20 episodes!
