Kaley Cuoco's New Show The Flight Attendant Just Added A Birds Of Prey Star

Kaley Cuoco smiles in surprise as Penny in The Big Bang Theory CBS

Kaley Cuoco is going big with her follow-up to The Big Bang Theory. Her new TV show The Flight Attendant keeps adding awesome co-stars. The latest is one of the stars of the upcoming DC movie Birds of Prey. She's also a Fearless Oscar nominee and just an A-lister in general -- Rosie Perez. Yes, Rosie has joined the HBO Max thriller series The Flight Attendant.

The Flight Attendant is based on the book by Chris Bohjalian, and it's a great read. I don't know if you'd want to read it before or after the show comes out -- it's not always clear which is the better way. But knowing the characters in the book makes me even more excited for the TV adaptation (which could still change any number of details).

Kaley Cuoco is producing the series but she also has the lead role of flight attendant Cassie Bowden, who wakes up in her hotel room hung over from the night before. Turns out, there's a dead body next to her and she knows the guy but not how he died. She panics, and the story spirals from there.

According to Deadline, Rosie Perez plays Megan, a friend of Cassie's and a perfectionist flight team lead. Megan is described by the site as bad at keeping other people's secrets but great at keeping her own.

Here are the previously announced stars for The Flight Attendant:

Michiel Huisman -- The Game of Thrones and Haunting of Hill House alum will play Alex, who is described as a charming, wealthy businessman who runs into some serious bad luck in Bangkok and ends up sticking with Cassie longer than expected.

Sonoya Mizuno -- Netflix's Maniac star will play Miranda, a savvy and potentially dangerous businesswoman Cassie meets in Bangkok.

Colin Woodell -- The Originals alum will play Buckley, described as an out of work actor and whisky connoisseur whose boozy charm and easy attitude are very attractive to Cassie.

Kaley Cuoco recently shared a photo with a couple of her new Flight Attendant co-stars to celebrate their castings. She also recently explained why she's glad she followed the end of The Big Bang Theory with The Flight Attendant. This is the time of year that Big Bang would normally be in production, but now we just have Young Sheldon.

Meanwhile, Rosie Perez plays DC Comics character Renee Montoya in Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), which stars Margot Robbie and co-stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Jurnee Smollett-Bell, and Ewan McGregor. The movie is scheduled to open in theaters on February 7, 2020.

Stay tuned for a premiere date for The Flight Attendant. It'll be one of many shows to arrive on the newly minted streamer HBO Max.

Gina Carbone

Gina grew up in Massachusetts and California in her own version of The Parent Trap. She went to three different middle schools, four high schools, and three universities -- including half a year in Perth, Western Australia. She currently lives in a small town in Maine, the kind Stephen King regularly sets terrible things in, so this may be the last you hear from her.
