Kathy Griffin Says Andy Cohen Treated Her 'Like A Dog' As Bravo TV Boss

Some of you may be aware that Kathy Griffin and Andy Cohen have been on the outs for a couple of years, but the feud between the comedian and the host of Bravo's Watch What Happens Live has been pretty under the radar for quite a while now. Well, that's about to change, as Griffin just came out and said some pretty negative things about what it was like working under Cohen when he was still Bravo's Executive Vice President of Development and Talent. As she tells it:

Andy Cohen treated me like a dog. He was, like, one of the worst bosses I ever had. The guy, he decides the entire slate at Bravo, and yet he gave himself a talk show that magically gets renewed every year. So, you know, I had a talk show at Bravo for two years that got canceled. And I thought, ‘Yeah it’s sort of competition for Andy,’ So, no, he has not been very kind.

You'll never be able to say that Kathy Griffin is anything but bluntly honest, will you? Not only did she not mince words by saying that Andy Cohen treated her like a dog and was one of the worst bosses she ever had, she also accused him of cancelling her Bravo talk show, Kathy, which ended after two seasons in 2013, because he felt it was competing with WWHL.

In case you are not up to date on how all this tension between Kathy Griffin and Andy Cohen began, let's go ahead and take you back to October of 2017, when Griffin's issues with Cohen first really went public.

After Griffin got into a lot of trouble for doing a photo shoot in May 2017 that showed her holding a bloody mask meant to represent the head of President Trump (which she has since said she's no longer sorry for doing), she was swiftly fired from her gig co-hosting CNN's New Year's Eve festivities with her friend, Anderson Cooper. She lost a lot of work (and goodwill) after posting that photo, but missing out on this steady job probably really hurt.

Who was chosen to replace Griffin on the yearly broadcast? Why, none other than Andy Cohen. And, when he was asked about replacing her by a TMZ paparazzo, Cohen replied "Who? I don’t know her," which pissed Griffin off to no end. While Cohen later said that he was obviously joking, Griffin took the comment as an opportunity to publicly denounce Cohen by taking to Twitter, where she, again, said he "treated me like a dog" and also called him "deeply misogynistic."

The day after her Twitter comments, Kathy Griffin released a 17 minute video on YouTube where she accused both Andy Cohen and TMZ founder Harvey Levin of helping to cover up Harvey Weinstein scandals, saying they "honestly just live to take women down." She also accused Cohen of asking her to get high and do cocaine prior to her two appearances on his talk show and first made public her thoughts that he was a "miserable boss" while her reality show My Life On The D-List was airing.

Cohen responded to her video by tweeting that he was "completely stunned" by Griffin's claims and saying that everything she accused him of in the video was "100% false and totally made up." I can only imagine that he would say the same thing about what Griffin said recently in her chat with People.

No one has backed up Kathy Griffin's claims so far, but it's clear that she's not going to back down from her opinion. Stay tuned to CinemaBlend and we'll keep you up to date on this feud, as well as the latest in movies, TV and pop culture.
