Jersey Shore Family Vacation's Ronnie Clarifies Status With Jen Harley As Season 3 Dusts Off Old Drama

Ronnie Ortiz-Magro Jersey Shore Family Vacation MTV

If there's one thing Jersey Shore fans have come to count on from the franchise over the years, it's that Ronnie Ortiz-Magro will have drama in his relationships. While Ronnie's ex Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola didn't carry over to Jersey Shore Family Vacation, his tendency to have tumultuous relationships certainly did. His issues with the mother of his child Jen Harley has been a major point of drama throughout the revival series' first two seasons, and Season 3 will be no different.

That may seem like a confusing statement to some, given Jersey Shore Family Vacation's Season 3 premiere eps appeared to show the two on good terms. However, the real-world headlines that focused on the couple in the weeks following Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino's sentencing forecast that things are headed south between them on Jersey Shore Family Vacation. So what's currently going on with Ronnie and Jen as all this months-old drama is getting dug back up? According to Ronnie, things are going well:

Right now things are going good [with Jen], and I think it’s because I made a change and I stopped doing the same thing over and over again. I started just focusing on myself and stopped worrying about what other people wanted from me, and what I want for myself. So right now things are good.

Things are apparently good between Ronnie and Jen, although the reason why is lost in the vagueness of the Jersey Shore Family Vacation star's quote to Us Weekly. We can't presume to know what Ronnie was doing in terms of "the same thing" or what exactly it was that "other people wanted from him," but it does seem that things have smoothed over between he and Jen Harley following his recent stint in rehab. Were drugs and alcohol part of the problem?

Other troubles between Ronnie and Jen have been showcased on Jersey Shore Family Vacation and on social media, and it's clear that the former's infidelity has played a part in some fights. Violence has also played a factor, which will surely be talked about in length during Season 3 as the truth behind Ronnie's black eye may be revealed in an episode. Other incidents that this season may cover include a fight between the two at a nightclub, which ended in pressed charges.

There's also a chance that Jersey Shore Family Vacation fans could see some drama that the couple themselves may not be aware is set to be televised. There's a history of Shore incidents getting shown that weren't seemingly common knowledge between the two of them, which themselves have led to fights. Jen Harley has publicly criticized the series a couple times for presenting a biased view of their personal drama, and she claimed in the past that a lot of their problems would be solved if Ronnie quit the show.

With all that being said, Ronnie is claiming that the waves have been calm between the couple, so perhaps these two are turning over a new leaf. That would be a greater twist than, say, Jersey Shore Family Vacation's unveiling of Mike as a "good" guy, so fans can hope things stay solid between these two even if the show loses a bit of drama as a result.
