The Arrow-verse will have its biggest crossover yet. “Crisis on Infinite Earths” was already set to be a massive crossover between The CW series. Then, came this seismic announcement – the lineup of shows participating in the annual event. Brace yourselves, this is going to be huge.

Arrow, The Flash, and Supergirl will be joined by Legends of Tomorrow and Batwoman. Yes! The event will span five hours. There is a slight twist to how long it will span. The first half of “Crisis on Infinite Earths” will start in December before taking a break. It will conclude following the midseason break, per TVLine.

So, the first three parts will air towards the end of 2019. The final two episodes will then air when the midseason break ends in early 2020. One of the shows with the 2020 crossover episode will be Legends of Tomorrow. The other one is not currently known.

Arrow-verse fans will recall that Legends of Tomorrow ended up not participating in last year’s installment entitled “Elseworlds.” This news ensures that there will not be a repeat of that for “Crisis on Infinite Earths.”

Unlike its fellow Arrow-verse series, Legends of Tomorrow will not be a part of The CW’s fall slate. It will debut during the midseason. Hence, its crossover episode airing in 2020. There will never be another crossover quite like this, so Legends of Tomorrow participating this time was especially essential.

The news also means Arrow-verse newcomer Batwoman will participate in the crossover event. As fans will recall, the new series’ titular character made her debut in last year’s “Elseworlds.” The event provided the introduction of Ruby Rose’s Kate Kane, a.k.a. Batwoman.

Earlier this month, The CW confirmed that it had given a full series order to the latest addition in the Arrow-verse. Batwoman will air Sundays at 8 p.m. ET this fall on The CW. After playing an integral role in the crossover, Kate Kane will now be back to take part in it via her own show.

This Arrow-verse crossover is shaping up to be a massive one, which fans probably expected. Along with having a brand new show joining the crossover and another one returning to the fold, there is a bittersweet side to it.

It will be Arrow’s last. The show that started the entire universe will be ending with its eighth season. Its final season will be comprised of only 10 episodes. Arrow will return this fall on The CW.

The much anticipated Arrow-verse crossover event will begin in December 2019 on The CW. Arrow, The Flash, and Supergirl will all return this fall. The premiere of the new Arrow-verse series, Batwoman, will join them. Legends of Tomorrow Season 5 will return in 2020.
