When Wendy Williams is ready to move on, she moves fast. Wendy Williams created, hosts, and produces her talk show The Wendy Williams Show. Her soon-to-be-ex-husband Kevin Hunter has been an executive producer on the show since 2011. But a week after Williams filed for divorce, Hunter is out of a job. Here's a statement from a rep for the show, referencing show distributors Debmar-Mercury:
Ice cold. That was the statement shared to Deadline confirming Kevin Hunter's exit.
It has been an eventful couple of months for The Wendy Williams Show. You'll recall Wendy was out for a couple of months, with guest hosts filling in. She returned in early March, and said her long hiatus was due to health issues related to her Grave’s disease. Fans were frustrated that Wendy could dish it out, but not take it when it came to the rumors that were swirling at the time about her husband Kevin Hunter cheating on her and even getting his alleged mistress pregnant -- with that baby said to be born in March.
Instead, Wendy Williams reiterated her love for Kevin and their son Kevin Jr., and said they were spending more time together as the Hunters.
Shortly after that, though, Wendy Williams revealed to fans that she had been staying in a sober living facility seeking treatment for addiction. Apparently it was in that sober living facility that she had an awakening that led her to file for divorce from Kevin Hunter. She did so on April 11, citing "irreconcilable differences." They had been married nearly 22 years, with their son -- Kevin Hunter Jr. -- born in 2000.
Wendy Williams addressed her life changes during a recent "Hot Topics" segment of her show:
As she noted toward the end of the segment:
Wendy Williams acknowledged that her personal life is now viewers' business, and up for analysis just like any other pop culture topic -- like killing off Aunt Becky on Fuller House, which was a recent suggestion she had. She can both dish it out and take it now, but she won't be taking it with Kevin Hunter by her side. They still share a son together, but that son is 19 this year, so they don't exactly have to see each other on a daily basis.
