David Boreanaz has teased that an Angel reunion could be in the works. That is the major takeaway from a recent interview with the actor. Boreanaz was a recent guest on The Talk when "talk" turned to Angel.

The beloved Buffy the Vampire Slayer spinoff ran from 1999 to 2004. Hence, the question of whether he would be willing to do an Angel reunion came up. Boreanaz teased that one could already be in the works. Discussing the potential for one, Boreanaz told The Talk:

We're coming up on our 20 years. I mean, that's amazing to have been blessed with a show like that and that's where I really started my gig, in this acting world. I love that character. So, I will say there may be something coming up. I don't want to give away much. I can say, it's 20 years coming up this fall and we may have something in the works.

As difficult as it may be for fans to believe, Angel is getting ready to turn the big 2-0. The series premiered on The WB way back in October 1999. It ran for five seasons before getting cancelled with a cliffhanger as its ending note. Fifteen years have passed since it went off the air. Considering the time in between, it makes absolute sense for fans to be clamoring for an Angel reunion.

Let's read between the lines a little about what David Boreanaz said. The key is "may," so it may or may not happen. Boreanaz also says that it is coming up. He then points to this fall being when Angel arrives at the 20-year mark. That could mean that the earliest you may be able to expect this potential reunion is this fall.

Now to the big question. What kind of a reunion will this be? Will the cast reunite to reminisce and reflect on Angel? Or will they revive the series for a single outing? David Boreanaz says that he loves the character, but will he actually reprise the role? That seems doubtful.

Back in 2018, David Boreanaz was discussing the Buffy reboot at New York Comic Con. While there, he mentioned that he would not be "putting on that makeup anymore!" So, the idea of him filming a one-off Angel revival seems a bit too optimistic.

When Buffy the Vampire Slayer celebrated its 22nd anniversary, the cast took to social media to recognize the occasion. What David Boreanaz described regarding Angel sounded more on-screen in nature. Or at least, it seemed to be.

As fall approaches, there should be more insight available into the potential reunion. It has to undoubtedly be exciting for fans to hear that David Boreanaz is even hinting at a reunion. Roughly two years ago, Boreanaz was less than enthused at the suggestion of a Buffy the Vampire Slayer reunion.

Another question that fans will have to stay tuned to get the answer to is which Angel stars will be involved in this reunion. There is certainly a reason for them to want to do one. Angel ended its five-season run with no closure. Perhaps, the reunion can provide some.
