Disney's Kim Possible Has Us Pumped For Live-Action Movie With Exclusive Poster

Kim Possible fans, rejoice! The once-animated action heroine is coming back to the small screen in live-action along with other beloved original series characters, and some newcomers. Disney provided CinemaBlend with a brand new (and exclusive) motion poster that gives fans one of the coolest looks at the human cast so far. Take a look!

The new graphic showcases some characters that will be very familiar to the animated series' fans, although they don't look quite the same with actual skin and bones. Sure, Sadie Stanley's Kim Possible looks ready to fearlessly leap into action, and Sean Giambrone appears ready to follow her with maximum gusto as the less fearless Ron Stoppable.

However, Disney Channel's live-action original movie is taking some liberties with the established looks of the characters. Plus, it's as comforting to see a three-dimensional Rufus perched on Ron's shoulder as it can be comforting to see any naked mole rat hanging out atop a person.

Meanwhile, villains Dr. Drakken (Todd Stashwick) and Shego (Taylor Ortega) are seen hanging from the helicopter, but they aren't respectively blue and green. As such, they'll certainly look more realistic than they did in 2-D!

Perhaps the most interesting element here is Clara Wilson's Athena. As fans of the cartoon know, Athena was not part of Team Possible, and didn't even exist on the original show! Interestingly, though, Athena's outfit looks a lot like the updated outfit Kim wore in Season 4 after her first action ensemble was ruined.

As confident as Kim looks here, she's probably not going to be universally loved when she starts school as a freshman at Middleton High. Unlike the animated Kim, who was a star cheerleader and had no shortage of friends filling up her social life, live-action Kim is just starting to carve out her high school persona. Middleton High may not be packed with supervillains like Dr. Drakken, but her friendly rival Bonnie (Erika Tham) might have Kim missing some of her more familiar baddies!

Disney did a solid job of casting the live-action Kim Possible feature, too. Beyond the already mentioned stars, viewers will see How I Met Your Mother's Alyson Hannigan taking on the role of Kim's mother, Dr. Ann Possible, with The Big C's Connie Ray as Nana Possible, Kim's grandmother. Raven's Home's Issac Ryan Brown will be around as the tech-savvy Wade.

While most of the actors in the live-action Kim Possible movie are new to the franchise, that's not the case for everyone. Former voice star Christy Carlson Romano will return not as Kim, but as another character whose description has been kept hush-hush. As well, comedian Patton Oswalt will be back to play the live-action counterpart of his animated character Professor Dementor. If the poster above is missing anything, it's definitely Patton Oswalt.

Kim Possible, written by original creators Mark McCorkle and Bob Schooley with The DUFF's Josh Cagan, will be released on Disney Channel on Friday, February 15, at 8:00 p.m. ET. To see what else will be rocking the small screen before and after that debut, keep up with our midseason TV premiere schedule.
