Barry And Nora's Relationship Gets Shaken Up In The Flash's Midseason Premiere Trailer

Spoilers below for the most recent episodes of The Flash, so be sure to watch before reading on.

With the Arrow-verse's giant "Elseworlds" crossover now done (at least for now), everyone's attention can shift to the various shows' upcoming returns. The Flash released the first trailer for its upcoming midseason premiere, titled "The Flash & The Furious," and it looks like the episode will be putting a strain on Barry and Nora's relationship as her ties to Reverse-Flash come to light. Check it out!

Whenever Nora revealed that she was actually the future daughter of Barry and Iris, many fans probably assumed that the familial union wasn't destined to be a happy one forever. That assessment got bolstered by the reveal that the inspiration for Nora's time traveling festivities is none other than Eobard Thawne, with this version of the speedster once again played by Tom Cavanagh. And it sounds like Nora's visit is going to go further south soon.

For one, it looks like Nora will be responsible for locking Barry up in The Pipeline, which doesn't bode well for the duo's relationship. Considering we just saw Barry trapped in there with Oliver for "Elseworlds," one assumes that the reasoning for his imprisonment this time will be quite important, if not as bizarre as the two men's personalities getting switched up. But what could cause it?

Elsewhere in the trailer, Barry can be seen stressing out over something with Elongated Man, as if someone is in serious trouble. It's probably no coincidence that The Flash's face in that moment resembled the photo on the front page of the show's Crisis newspaper. Does that have anything to do with why Nora looks so bummed out?

We also see the shot of the computer running a program to try and figure out what all of Nora's time language symbols mean. Perhaps everyone invading her privacy sends Nora over the edge. It seems like they could just ask her what everything means, as opposed to trying to decode it all without her assistance.

Whatever is happening in general, it's likely Nora is realizing that her time-traveling shenanigans haven't done much for Team Flash beyond complicate everyone's lives, and that it was innately selfish to alter reality just so she could hang out with her dad. Reverse=Flash definitely doesn't want her to forget about everything he did to help her, though, regardless of any regrets she's having.

Speaking of Reverse-Flash, could it be possible that Nora has to repay Reverse-Flash in some way for helping her develop her speed skills in order to go back to the past? That could be why he's reminding her of all the things he did to help her.

Whichever way it goes, the important thing to remember here is that Batwoman rules. Maybe Nora should ask Ms. Kane for some help, assuming Supergirl isn't taking all of her time already.
