Harry Potter Cast Members Reunited Ahead Of Tom Felton And Natalia Tena's New Series

Although Hermione Granger punched Draco Malfoy in the face in the third Harry Potter film, in real life stars Emma Watson and Tom Felton are good friends. Watson even took the time to promote Felton's new YouTube Premium series Origin, which co-stars their fellow Harry Potter alum Natalia Tena (Nymphadora Tonks). Watson isn't in the show herself, but it's clear she's excited about it, tweeting this free promotion after some recent hang time with Felton:

As Emma Watson notes in her fantastic hashtag, she and Tom Felton have been goofing around together since 1999. That's just before filming started for the first movie in the series, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, which was released in 2001. Both Watson's Hermione and Felton's Draco were featured in all eight Harry Potter films. Natalia Tena, on the other hand, made her debut as Tonks in the fifth film, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

Tonks and Draco were actually cousins, through their mothers. Despite that, they didn't share too much screen time. That may change for the actors with Origin, starring both Tom Felton and Natalia Tena.

Origin is a sci-fi thriller series following a group of strangers stranded on a spacecraft bound for a distant planet. The stranded passengers must work together for survival, but soon realize one of them is far from who they claim to be.

Tom Felton has already tried to distance his Origin character -- an American -- from his famous British bad boy Draco Malfoy. But Felton will always be Draco to Harry Potter fans, and that should help the new series find an audience, since many of those fans will follow him to each new project.

The Harry Potter stars all scattered to different acting projects after the final film hit theaters in 2011, but they still stuck together as friends. The main stars have reunited a few times in the past several years, with Tom Felton even (unsuccessfully) trying to convert Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom) into Slytherin.

Previous to Origin, Tom Felton had a recurring role as Julian Albert in The Flash Season 3. He recently played Laertes in Daisy Ridley's movie Ophelia, which premiered earlier this year at Sundance.

Natalie Tena made a name for herself as Osha on Game of Thrones, and also starred in one of the best Black Mirror episodes, "White Christmas." She recently had a lead role in CBS' now-canceled Wisdom of the Crowd.

Origin could give both of these actors their best chances yet to move on from their legacies as Harry Potter actors. Catch Tom Felton and Natalia Tena in Origin, their new 10-episode series, premiering Wednesday, November 14 on YouTube Premium. Keep up with more upcoming TV premiere dates in our handy schedule.
