A Twilight Star Just Joined Scream Queens Season 2

Scream Queens

Scream Queens was one of the new shows last season that managed to gain a fandom and stick the landing, and as such, it'll be returning for Season 2 with all the laughs and gruesome murders that we've already come to expect from the series. Most of its main players (who all happen to be very pretty) will be returning, and just when you thought the cast of Scream Queens couldn't get any more attractive, they went ahead and hired another really good looking person. This slice of handsome pie comes from the Twilight movies and he's known for taking his shirt off/being a wolf. That's right, Taylor Lautner is joining Scream Queens.

Taylor Lautner will be one of the new male leads when Scream Queens returns for Season Two. As previously reported, the show will be leaving behind its college campus and will instead take place at a spooky medical hospital, and Lautner will be playing a doctor at the facility named Dr. Cassidy Cascade. Despite the fact that he will be treating patients, Cascade suffers from his own mental condition, the effects of which are being kept a mystery. He'll become a suspect in the seasons' central mystery as a tragedy repeatedly strikes at the institution.

Lautner will be joining John Stamos as some of the new additions to the cast. Stamos is playing Dr. Brock Holt, the secretive head surgeon of the hospital, meaning the show is that much closer to reaching its handsome doctor quota. The Season One cast members will be reprising their roles including Jamie Lee Curtis, Emma Roberts, Lea Michele, Abigail Breslin, Keke Palmer, Billie Lourd, Glen Powell and Niecy Nash.

I've never been a big fan of Lautner, but I think this is a good fit for him. Scream Queens usually gives its actor a lot of opportunities to work their funny muscles (maybe the only muscles on Lautner's body that need more work). He is legitimately and unexpectedly great in the criminally underseen British sitcom Cuckoo as the naive, cult-raised Dale - seriously, it's on Netflix right now, so go watch it - so it's hard to knock him continuing to branch out in the genre. Nick Jonas got to show off his skills last season, and I can see Lautner getting a similar treatment here. His characters' mysterious medical condition sounds like it has a lot of potential for both comedy and drama, so we'll see how he handles U.S. primetime this fall.

You can see Talyor Lautner and the surviving Chanels in Season 2 of Scream Queens when its season premiere airs on Tuesday, September 20 on Fox.
