On April 20th, 2018, Swedish DJ Tim Bergling, better known by his stage name Avicii, was pronounced dead. It was reportedly a suicide, as the musician allegedly gave himself self-inflicted wounds through a broken wine bottle. He was 28, and it remains a deep tragedy for fans. But it was a deeper loss, as you would expect, for his family, and they still remain heartbroken by his absence. It will no doubt take a long time before they heal.

It will soon be a year since Avicii passed away, and since the musician didn't leave a will, the particulars of his estate have been discussed in his wake. Today, however, it was announced that Avicii's mourning family will inherit his $25 million fortune, as it was decided by financial records at the Swedish Tax Agency. The family is now expected to inherit the money once national and international debts left behind the late musician are completely settled.

As it was reported by CNN, Avicii's family is set to inherit the money since the departed musician left behind no children or partner to claim the inheritance. Due to his success and fame, it's not surprising that he has quite a bit of money to his name. But there's no denying that while it is a huge sum of money to receive, the circumstances through which they will get this money are deeply tragic and likely carry their own pain.

This $25 million inheritance comes shortly after the musician's Los Angeles residence was sold for $17.5 million. That certainly adds to the great sum of money that will be departed by the musician, but it is also a chilling reminder of his absence and the the beloved musical talent that has departed.

Before his death, Avicii was dealing with a string of health problems, which resulted in the performer retiring from live shows in 2016 after performing over 800 shows throughout the span of his young and tragically short career. Avicii grew to prominence in the late '00s and he broke out internationally with the single "Levels" in 2011, which became a number one hit in Sweden and later earned him a Grammy nomination.

Avicii worked with celebrity talents such as Madonna and Chris Martin, among others. He eventually became the first electronic DJ/producer to ever headline at the historic and prestigious Radio City Music Hall in New York City. There's no denying that the DJ accomplished a lot in just a short span of time. He will be missed.

Our thoughts go out to Avicii's family and friends during this difficult time. Though it has been a few months, there's no denying that the pain is likely still felt by his absence, and he will remain a big influence in his musical genre.
