That Time Drake Cost Tiffany Haddish $100K

Tiffany Haddish Uncle Drew

Tiffany Haddish is making all kinds of money right now. She's at the top of her career at the moment, and her profile is expected to rise only higher and higher from here on out. But she had the opportunity to make even more money -- if it weren't for Drake. As the funnywoman recently recounted, she was asked on a dinner date with Drake, and it didn't necessarily work out. Turns out, because it didn't work out, she lost out on a good bit of money. Here's what Tiffany Haddish had to say about her almost-date with Drake, and how the coupling resulted in the comedian losing out on a lot of cash.

I would like to date. I don't really have a lot of time for it, but when someone ask me out on a date that I'm interested in, like, hanging out with, I will clear the schedule. I will make some time... So, you know, I was in the Drake music video. And so, I was texting with Drake, and he was like, 'Man, I'm so excited about the video.' I was like, 'I'm excited about the music video too!' He was like, 'We should hang out sometime!' I was like, 'Yeah, I'm down to hang out sometime! I'm cool to hang out! You let me know.' He was like, 'Let me take you to dinner.' I was like, 'That sounds good.' He was like, 'Okay, cool, cool. We'll make it work.' Right? So I blocked all this time off. I was like, 'Shoot, I'm going to get my mustache waxed.' You know what I'm saying? Get my arm pits waxed. Got me a nice little dress. Then, I was like, 'So, what time are we heading out? Are you sending a car? Where are we going?' And he was like, 'Oh man, my bad. Family emergency. I'm in Canada right now.' And I was like, 'Okay... I coulda made a hundred thousand dollars today! But I was trying to see what that D do.'

On the latest episode of Red Table Talk, Jada Pinkett Smith was joined by Tiffany Haddish to discuss the comedian's life, her early struggles, her celebrity status and her love life. That's when Drake entered the discussion. Haddish appeared in Drake's music video of "Nice For What," alongside Issa Rae, Olivia Wilde, Zoe Saldana and more. Haddish was willing to go the extra mile with Drake, to the point where she was not working and not making extra money. But when Drake flacked out on her last minute, she lost out on a good bit of cash, and she appears to be at least a little bitter about it.

Nevertheless, Tiffany Haddish is certainly making all kinds of money at the moment. In addition to her stand-up and her best-selling book, The Last Black Unicorn, she's got a slew of movies coming down the pipeline. Those include Night School, Tyler Perry's Nobody's Fool, Ike Barniholtz's The Oath, The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part, The Secret Life of Pets 2 and the drama The Kitchen, with Melissa McCarthy and Elisabeth Moss, which she is currently filming. She also has the upcoming animated series Tuca & Bertie, from executive producer Raphael Bob-Waksberg (BoJack Horseman). She also appears on the TBS series The Last OG with Tracy Morgan, this weekend's Uncle Drew. Needless to say, Tiffany Haddish is one busy woman. And Drake doesn't seem to appreciate that.

In any case, at least it resulted in a good story to tell with her Girls Trip co-star Jada Pinkett Smith.
