How Marvel Is Using The Avengers To Try And Sell Ant-Man

As a solo movie, Peyton Reed's upcoming Ant-Man will start off within its own little corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe... but we shouldn't forget that it won't be long before he's seen right alongside the likes of Captain America, Thor, and Iron Man. Helping us imagine that future are three brand new and very awesome posters for the new blockbuster.

Ant-Man Captain America Poster

Marvel has officially released a trio of new Ant-Man posters, all of them featuring the titular hero standing next to the three key tools used by the Avengers members mentioned earlier. Above you can see Scott Lang (played by Paul Rudd in the movie) standing with Cap's Vibranium shield, but we also have the diminutive crime-fighter posing with Thor's uru hammer, Mjolnir.

Lastly we have Ant-Man perched on the shoulder of Iron Man - and this is an image one could easily see eventually being featured in a future Marvel Studios movie (perhaps even Captain America: Civil War, which Paul Rudd was confirmed for last month).

Especially when you considering the fact that Marvel Studios posters are usually incredibly generic and often make dull usage of floating heads, these pieces are really awesome. Given the source material, you'd think that the comic book giant would regularly be able to come up with better designs, but that hasn't been the case over the years. These posters, on the other hand, are both creative and do a good job selling the film.

But new artwork isn't all we have for you though! As though it weren't exciting enough to see Ant-Man palling around with Avengers equipment (well, former Avengers in some cases), the team of Earth's Mightiest Heroes actually gets a name drop in the brand new TV spot that was just released for the new film today. Watch it below!

After years and years of waiting (seriously, this project was announced in 2006), Ant-Man will soon finally be coming to a theater near you, with Marvel Studios set to release it in theaters on July 17th. In the coming weeks we have some awesome coverage of the movie lined up to bring to you, so be sure to stay tuned!
