Jamie Lee Curtis Reveals Her Child Is Transgender, And The Awesome Way She’s Showing Support

Jamie Lee Curits in Knives Out

Actress and philanthropist Jamie Lee Curtis has had a long and successful film career. Starting with her star-making performance in John Carpenter's Halloween, Curtis has continued entertaining and inspiring with her performances. Fans have also followed her personal life, and Curtis recently revealed that her child is transgender, and the awesome way she’s showing support.

Jamie Lee Curtis is in a power couple herself, married to filmmaker Christopher Guest. She’s been open about various aspects of her personal life, including her marriage and battle with addiction. And in a new interview, Curtis revealed (with permission from her daughter) that her child is trans. She explained that in the past few years, she and Guest...

...have watched in wonder and pride as our son became our daughter Ruby. And she and her fiancé will get married next year at a wedding that I will officiate.

How sweet is that? On top of being a supportive parent to Ruby, Jamie Lee Curtis will even go so far as to officiate her daughter’s wedding. It’s an inspiring story of acceptance, which is often lacking for so many transgender folks out there.

In her longform interview with AARP, Jamie Lee Curtis once again opened up her personal life to the general public. Curtis is beloved for both her talents and personality, and the reveal about her daughter Ruby is yet another example of her open mind. It should be interesting to see how advocacy groups and the trans community respond to this message of love.

Aside from simply being at Ruby’s wedding, Jamie Lee Curtis is getting a very special role as the one officiating the ceremony. One can only imagine what sweet words will be uttered, and how special of an experience it’ll be for the daughter of Curtis and Christopher Guest.

As previously mentioned, Jamie Lee Curtis has previously been generous with the public regarding her personal life. While far less happy than the news of officiating her daughter Ruby’s upcoming nuptials, Curtis has also been transparent about her experience with substance issues. JLC’s journey to sobriety is sure to be inspiring for many, as she uses her platform to spread awareness and funds for charity.

Of course, Jamie Lee Curtis has also been making plenty of headlines recently for her professional life and successful career. Curtis will return to theaters this October with Halloween Kills, and recently wrapped the Borderlands movie. Add in her acclaimed role in Knives Out, audible series Letters From Camp, and recently launched Good Friend podcast, and it’s clear that Curtis is keeping extremely busy.

Halloween Kills will finally hit theaters October 15th. In the meantime, check out the 2021 movie release dates to plan your next movie experience.
