Two Iconic Songs From The Twilight Soundtrack Are Finally Streaming, And Fans Can’t Get Enough

Let’s face it, the Twilight soundtrack is a no-skip album. Between the 2008 adaptation of Stephenie Meyer’s vampire love story introducing us to Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart’s star power and becoming the brooding, blue-filtered book-to-movie classic it continues to be, its music was a huge highlight of the film. Yet for years, the two songs Paramore wrote specifically for the movie, “Decode” and “I Caught Myself,” have been missing from music streaming platforms including Spotify.

That is until now. Last night both “Decode” and “I Caught Myself” quietly appeared on Spotify as singles. If you aren't an eagle-eyed fan yourself, the good news is that fans have been spreading the word:

How did we get hereee? Well, to be honest this is quite random and out-of-the-blue. The songs have been available to purchase as part of the soundtrack for some time, but the lack of streaming options likely had to do with copyright. The band’s entire discography otherwise is streamable, but Paramore wrote the song for Twilight on Atlantic Records, reportedly also via the band's own label Fueled By Ramen, perhaps tying it up in some streaming complications over the years. Either way, fans are losing their minds over the songs finally being so accessible "FINALLY."

“Decode” was the lead single to come out of Twilight and charted on the Billboard Hot 100 back in 2008. The song won a Teen Choice Award and was nominated for a Grammy for Best Song Written for a Motion Picture. The lyrics by lead vocalist Hayley Williams, who was a fan of the books, wrote it from Bella Swan’s perspective. A live version of the song was previously available, but it doesn't hit the same as the studio recording from the movie, check it:

The second song “I Caught Myself” is lesser known, but also fits into the mood of the movie, especially in terms of Edward and Bella’s relationship. Overall, both songs were key to the movie because it fed into the 2008 emo/punk phase many fans of the books and movies were in the thick of when the franchise launched at the time.

It’s an awesome gift for Twilight fans following last year’s resurgence of the franchise. With the release of Midnight Sun, Stephenie Meyer’s long-awaited novel from Edward Cullen’s POV, and fans in quarantine, the movies went viral all over again and many times over, particularly on the social media app TikTok. The pair of songs will be going on repeat all day for many of us:

Just last month, pop singer Tessa Violet was inspired by Twilight when shooting her music video for “Games” and even recreated the famed baseball scene. While speaking to CinemaBlend, Violet shared her inspirations for the tribute lied in the movie's recent comeback. “Decode” and “I Caught Myself” are iconic songs, and the Twilight Twitter account certainly gets it:
