It's hard to believe, but it's already been six months since the release of Avengers: Endgame. The Russo Brothers' massive blockbuster destroyed records when it arrived in theaters, eventually becoming the highest grossing movie of all time. Endgame has recently been made available to stream, as it was included with the launch of Disney+. But it turns out that the movie looks quite different on that streaming service, especially compared to the Blu-ray.

Avengers: Endgame is a visual triumph, including CGI characters like Thanos and the massive final battle against the Mad Titan's full forces. But it looks like those signature visuals might differ a bit, depending on how you watch the blockbuster. Fans notice this discrepancy and took to the internet, where it was revealed that the images are crisper on the physical copies, as opposed to streaming it on Disney+. Check it out below.

As you can see, the coloring and sharpness of Avengers: Endgame seems to differ depending on how the movie is watched. And considering just how rabid the fanbase is, this distinction was made shortly before Endgame was available to stream-- including on mobile devices.

This side by side comes to us from Reddit (in a post unearthed by ComicBook.com) which is often used for fans to communicate directly with each other. That's where one user took stills from Avengers: Endgame, both on physical copy and streaming form. And it turns out there is a difference when watching the movie on Disney+.

This discrepancy makes a great deal of sense, simply because the movie is streaming. The movie is constantly loading in order to play, which typically affects the visual quality across all platforms. What's more, Blu-ray is known for being the most crisp and visual-friendly type of owning movies. So it should probably bit a bit higher quality.

Of course, Avengers: Endgame is still a visual treat on Disney+. There a ton of visual effects used to make the story a reality, and they all look great regardless of how the movie is being watched. Fans were delighted to learn that Endgame would be available on launch day for the streaming service, and it's highlighted on the application as one of its most popular titles. Because who doesn't want to watch the Time Heist anytime they want?

I definitely took the time to stream Avengers: Endgame thanks to Disney+, as well as the myriad other MCU titles that are currently available on the new service. Disney+ also recently added a "continue watching" tab, which should be helpful given Endgame's long runtime. You can use this link for a free 7-day trial of Disney+, if you'd like to judge for yourself.

Marvel fans are eager to see more MCU movies hitting Disney+ in the coming years. There are currently a handful of blockbusters, but it's far from the full 23 movies that have hit theaters over the past decade. The new streaming service must wait for previous contracts to expire, before more titles are added. Luckily you can search for movies like Black Panther, and Disney+ will reveal when it'll be added. Even if that's years from now.

The next installment in the MCU is Black Widow on May 1st, 2020. In the meantime, check out our 2019 release list to plan your next trip to the movies. And our 2020 release list to look ahead toward the New Year.
