Fast feud? What Fast feud? Sounds like Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Vin Diesel crushed the beef and just want to have some Fast fun. And if those two alpha bros can finally get along, anyone can. #WorldPeaceAchieved
Dwayne Johnson is ready to get his candy ass back into the main Fast and Furious world. His Hobbs and Shaw spinoff keeps on kicking and recently passed $750 million worldwide. The Rock has been celebrating every box office milestone along the way, and in his latest video he singled out the man who was rumored to be the subject of his original "candy asses" rant back in 2016: Vin Diesel.
Vin Diesel is holding down the Fast fort, updating fans regularly as Fast and Furious 9 winds down filming. It was previously thought that The Rock would NOT be in Fast 9, because he's busy being in just about everything else. However, Dwayne Johnson's video ended with a tease that strongly hinted to Hobbs' return to the Fast world -- either for a cameo in Fast and Furious 9, since The Rock does love a good cameo, or at the very least for Fast and Furious 10, which is already in the works.
Dwayne Johnson's thank you post started by thanking fans for helping Hobbs & Shaw reach its latest box office heights, which also helped to expand the Fast and Furious universe. He continued with other thanks and ended with Vin Diesel -- noting that Vin had a "classy" post in honor of The Rock's recent wedding. Here's more from The Rock:
Lastly, but not least, I want to thank brother Vin [Diesel] for your support of Hobbs & Shaw. I saw your post and I appreciate it. ... As you know, and what a wild ride this is and what a wild ride this has been, 10 years ago when you and I spoke, you invited me into the Fast and Furious family. I'm grateful for that invite. And as you know, my goal was always, all these years, to come into the Fast & Furious world and help elevate the franchise in any way that I possibly could. And of course, all roads lead to one thing. I’ll be seeing you soon, Toretto.
Toretto. You know Vin Diesel plays Dominic Toretto in the Fast franchise, so that's a pretty strong hint to Dwayne Johnson's main franchise return as Luke Hobbs. If all roads lead to one thing, should we take that as a hint that Johnson will return for the final Fast movie, which is presumed to be Fast and Furious 10? (I'm not even going to indulge the idea that the franchise will continue after Fast 10. Spinoffs? Probably. But let the main series drive off into the sunset.)

It's good to see Dwayne Johnson is on the Fast and Furious thank you train, when even just a few weeks ago it looked like he and Tyrese Gibson were continuing to take petty little shots at each other. Tyrese was not happy that the characters of Hobbs and Shaw got their own spinoff movie, since it delayed Fast 9. Tyrese seemed to delight in Hobbs & Shaw having a slow start at the domestic box office, but the movie has been crushing overseas. Johnson delighted in pointing that out, but now he seems to have gotten it out of his system. And since Vin Diesel has been "classy," he will be classy in return.
Apparently any beef between Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel was tied to their different working styles. Johnson confirmed that things were so tense between himself and Diesel making The Fate of the Furious, aka Fast 8, that they were not on set at the same time. As Johnson explained last year:
That is correct. We were not in any scenes together. Vin and I had a few discussions, including an important face-to-face in my trailer. And what I came to realize is that we have a fundamental difference in philosophies on how we approach moviemaking and collaborating. It took me some time, but I'm grateful for that clarity. Whether we work together again or not.
It sounds like they WILL work together again, and the feud has been put to bed. Both seem like hard workers, or at least promoters, since they both regularly keep fans updated and hyped about their upcoming projects. Fast and Furious 9 is scheduled for release in 2020 and as far as we know Fast and Furious 10 is still coming in 2021.
