Subscribe To Frequent Matt Reeves Collaborator Has Seen Stuff From The Batman: 'It’s Pretty Darn Awesome' Updates
Michael Giacchino, famed composer and frequent Matt Reeves collaborator, apparently pals around with the director in real life because he revealed at San Diego Comic-Con this weekend that he’s been one of the people who has seen some of the things related to Reeves already-announced upcoming film The Batman, which is expected to go into production early next year.
In fact, he called what he’s seen so far “pretty darn” awesome, elaborating:
At a panel CinemaBlend attended, Michael Giacchino was also asked if he’ll actually be doing the composing for The Batman, to which he seemed positive about the prospect, although it seems as if there’s nothing written in stone right now—or at least he’s not willing to say anything about it. He said about taking the gig:
As a final nod to his friend, Michael Giacchino asked the audience to holler, “Hey Matt, don’t screw up our Batman movie,” to which they obliged so he could send it off to Matt Reeves.
They are overdue to work together again and the rumor mill has indicated it could happen, even if Giacchino hasn’t said anything yet. Still, he’s at least some of what’s coming and that’s more than most people can say. In the meantime, the composer is also working on Taika Waititi's Hitler movie Jojo Rabbit. His current movie, Spider-man: Far From Home, is still in theaters.
There's still plenty of time for big reveals related to the Caped Crusader's upcoming solo movie. The Batman isn’t expected to come out until 2021, June 25 to be exact. In the meantime, you can see what all DC and Warner Bros. have in the works with our full guide to upcoming movies.
