Will and Jada Pinkett Smith’s son Jaden hasn’t been shy about his love for Batman. The 20-year-old rapper/actor has dressed in a white costume of the Caped Crusader for three special occasions: his high school prom, San Diego Comic Con, and Kim and Kanye West’s wedding. The latter he said he wore to "to protect everyone there." He’s also released a song called “Batman” too.

So, as you can imagine, he’s watching closely for the Dark Knight’s return to the big screen. Robert Pattinson was recently cast to don the cape and cowl for the Matt Reeves’ 2021 film. Here’s how Jaden Smith has weighed in:

Oh my gosh, I don’t even know what to say. Amazing things are happening every day that you don’t even know. I don’t even know. I’m at a loss for words with how excited I am for him. It has to happen. It has to fucking happen. He will be the best Batman. I’m losing my fucking shit.

Well, this is an amazing reaction! Jaden Smith is so happy with the casting choice that he was at a loss for words during his Rolling Stone interview. He even went so far to say that Pattinson will be the “best Batman” to date! It’s a refreshing remark amidst a petition made against Pattinson and early judgments based on the actor’s infamous Twilight role.

There are tons of reasons to be as excited for “Battinson” as Jaden Smith! Since Twilight, the actor has taken on some interesting and critically-acclaimed roles such as The Lost City of Z, Good Time, and High Life. As his recent Lighthouse co-star and superhero blockbuster alum Willem Dafoe recently pointed out, he’s got the chin for it too!

Robert Pattinson also joins Matt Reeves’ vision, which includes a noir-driven detective story for Bruce Wayne, where he’ll be facing off against a rogues gallery of villains that could include Penguin, Catwoman, Riddler, Firefly, Two-Face and Mad Hatter. A line of actresses interested in playing Selina Kyle has already formed, including Vanessa Hudgens and Aubrey Plaza showing interest.

Robert Pattinson was reportedly neck-and-neck with X-Men’s Nicholas Hoult for The Batman, but Pattinson edged him out for the part, in a quick casting turnaround for picking a superhero actor. While we’re at it, basking in Jaden Smith’s excitement, take a look at his music video for his song “Batman”:

That is quite a take on the Caped Crusader! It’s also sure to get stuck in your head the next time you hear the hero’s name. The music video came out in tribute as the original Batman, Adam West, who died the same month as the release of the video.

Robert Pattinson will suit up for production on the project at the end of the year or early 2020 ahead of The Batman’s current release date on June 25, 2021.
