Celebrity couples have a difficult position in pop culture. Because while fans are invested in your personal life and might deem your partnership "relationship goals", it also comes with widespread scrutiny from the general public. And when break-ups and/or divorces occur, there's a spotlight on every messy detail. This is especially true for Amber Heard and Johnny Depp, who are in a long legal battle in which both parties are alleging abuse.

The situation has been ever-changing, starting when Amber Heard released footage of Johnny Depp in a rage years ago. But her ex-husband maintains this was all a trick orchestrated by Heard and her friend Tillet Wright. Wright is a key witness in the proceedings, as she reportedly called 911 on behalf of Heard. And its related to this call that Amber Heard maintains her ex perjured himself in court.

The specifics of the situation relate to exactly how many calls to 911 were made during a violence incident between Amber Heard and Johnny Depp in May of 2016. While the Pirates of the Caribbean star reportedly claimed there was just one call, Heard maintains there were multiple. What's more, she claims that public records and LAPD call logs will prove her correct-- possibly resulting in a perjury case for Depp.

Per the report by The Blast, Amber Heard made her claims regarding perjury in a document that requested her case with Johnny Depp be moved to her home state of Virginia. It's clear that the ongoing legal battle between the former spouses isn't slowing down anytime soon, and this will be a story that will continue to develop as the legal system takes its course.

According to documents procured by The Blast, there indeed appears to be two separate phone calls made during the alleged incident in 2016. This may give Amber Heard's recollection of the events more weight, as well as her claim that Johnny Depp may have perjured himself by telling his version of the story. Just how this reported revelation will affect the legal proceedings is a mystery.

Meanwhile, Johnny Depp maintains his innocence, claiming that Amber Heard is simply making up the story of her abuse at his hands. He goes so far as to say that she painted on bruises in order to get a restraining order. And as mentioned above, he believed Heard collaborated with her friend Tillet Wright. It's a messy situation that seems to only get more complicated with each new development.
