Holmes And Watson 'Wins' Worst Picture (And Then Some) At 2019 Razzies

John C. Reilly and Will Ferrell in Holmes & Watson

Well, to all who walked out of Holmes & Watson, let it be known you walked out of an award-winning film! And you were probably right to do so.

Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly's Holmes & Watson won four Razzies at the 39th annual Golden Raspberry Awards. Hollywood's worst list is always announced the day before the Academy Awards. The star-studded comedy won the not-so-coveted prize of Worst Picture; plus Worst Remake, Ripoff, or Sequel; Worst Director for Etan Cohen; and Worst Supporting Actor for John C. Reilly.

Strangely enough, the critically maligned Holmes & Watson did not win Worst Screen Combo, and Will Ferrell was spared Worst Actor, since both prizes somehow went to President Donald Trump. Trump won two 2019 Razzies. Melissa McCarthy also won the Worst Actress Razzie while she's nominated tomorrow for an Oscar for Best Actress.

Here's the full list of 2019 Razzie Award "winners," via USA Today, along with the nominees who were just lucky to be -- no, I guess in this case they weren't lucky just to be nominated.

Yikes. Here's who "won" last year's Razzies, by the way. Do you think any of these new winners will proudly display their Razzie Awards, the way Dwayne Johnson does for Baywatch? The 2019 Oscars will be awarded Sunday, February 24 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.

Gina Carbone

Gina grew up in Massachusetts and California in her own version of The Parent Trap. She went to three different middle schools, four high schools, and three universities -- including half a year in Perth, Western Australia. She currently lives in a small town in Maine, the kind Stephen King regularly sets terrible things in, so this may be the last you hear from her.
