Thwip, thwip! Spidey has been swinging into win after win this past year. He delivered one of the most emotional lines in Avengers: Infinity War, a spinoff film starring his enemy Venom ruled the box office, and we couldn't quit raving about Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse last month.

Next up is a sequel for Tom Holland's Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Far From Home. In anticipation for its July release, the first trailer finally hit the internet and broke huge record for Sony. In the first 24 hours of the trailer drop on Tuesday morning, it racked up 130 million views, and Tom Holland has now taken to Instagram to thank fans for tuning in. In his words:

The response to our first trailer has been through the roof. Thank you on behalf of @sonypicturesuk and @marvelstudios and most importantly myself. It means the world to me that you guys are picking up what we are putting down and I'm sure your gonna love this movie. #spidermanfarfromhome

No, thank you, Tom Holland! The trailer set an impressive new record for Sony ... although it was still nowhere near the one set by the first Avengers: Endgame trailer. But who's counting? Prior to the release of the Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer, fans were getting pretty restless about catching the first footage of the summer superhero release.

A couple of fans posted a wacky video on Twitter demanding the trailer for Far From Home. Tom Holland responded to them with "I'll see what I can do" and updated fans he'd "spoke to Sony" before the first look at the sequel hit the web on Tuesday.

It's no surprise the trailer to Spider-Man: Far From Home was a hit because fans are on edge about the fate of the character post-Infinity War. It's unclear whether the events of Far From Home are before or after Spider-Man's death at the end, and fans were certainly looking for some hints and answered questions in the sequel's footage.

However, the Far From Home trailer completely ignores anything related to Infinity War or Endgame... awkward. Either Spidey makes it out alive, which I'm definitely betting on, or the upcoming movie takes place in an earlier timeline.

The Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer still offered tons for fans to get excited about. Are Aunt May and Happy going to be an item? What happens when Peter Parker and the high school gang take a summer vacation to Europe? Will a romance blossom between Peter and MJ? Why does Mysterio look like he's a good guy? Who are the Elementals? We. Can't. Wait.

Fear not, Marvel fans. Starting on March 8 with Captain Marvel, the MCU is going to go into full gear and more and more questions about the fate of our favorite heroes will be answered. Avengers: Endgame comes out on April 26 and Spider-Man: Far From Home on July 5.
