First Spider-Man: Far From Home Trailer Is Hilarious And Action-Packed

Spider-Man (Tom Holland) finds himself in a precarious place. Sony has to promote the fact that they have a bells-and-whistles Spider-Man sequel arriving in theaters next summer in Spider-Man: Far From Home. But at the moment, their sarcastic, high-school-aged hero is dust. So it is with great anticipation that we buckled in for the first full trailer for the upcoming Far From Home, which will send Peter Parker and his classmates on a European vacation. You know, once Avengers 4 figures out how to bring Spidey back from the SNAP:

We actually know a lot about Spider-Man: Far From Home, despite the fact that the Marvel Cinematic Universe is in disarray, and Peter's part in the grand scheme is up in the air. Assuming all gets settled in Avengers: Endgame, we can report that Parker (Tom Holland) and his Homecoming classmates are heading overseas on a high school trip... but they are not alone.

It has been confirmed that Spider-Man will meet Mysterio on this trip, and the infamous Marvel character, fishbowl head and all, will be played by Jake Gyllenhaal.

He's not the only character joining Spider-Man in this anticipated sequel, however. Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders) will be tagging along, guiding Spider-Man on a handful of secret missions that may, or may not, require the introduction of a new suit.

Now let's talk about the unusual nature of this trailer. Sony doesn't acknowledge, at all, the fact that Peter Parker turned to dust at the end of Avengers: Infinity War. This trailer basically picks up with Peter somehow having survived. And there's no real mention of the fact that Peter somehow made it back. I suppose it's fair for Marvel fans to just accept the fact that there will be a solution to Spidey's predicament in Avengers: Endgame, which will open nearly three months prior to Spider-Man: Far From Home reaching theaters. But still, yeah. This is all a little strange.

Want to enjoy the first poster? Sure, why not, right?
