The DCEU may have just found the actresses who will play Black Canary and Huntress in the upcoming film, Birds of Prey, but the next man behind the Batman mask is still an unsolved mystery. Although it doesn't look like Batman will return on screen anytime soon since Birds of Prey and The Flash are being prioritized before Matt Reeves take on the Caped Crusader, rumors have been floating around for months about Ben Affleck's potential departure from the role, turning eyes on possible replacements for the Dark Knight. Earlier this month, Jon Hamm volunteered himself to take on the role, making serious headlines and getting a lot of fans excited about the possibility. So how does Hamm feel about breaking the internet? Here's what he said:

My God, yeah, it's fun. That's a part of the culture we live in, and we're making those movies more and more, but they're also making more creatively and more originally. And sure, it's always an exciting thing to have your name in the list so that's great.

Mad Men may be over, but Jon Hamm still has some Don Draper in him, as evidenced by his comments to ET Online. Sometimes when you want something enough, speaking it into existence is a good way to go about it. Let's just hope Warner Bros. is listening. While there's been a lot of radio silence for a while about the developments on the next Batman solo film, we recently heard that War of the Planet of the Apes director Matt Reeves has finished a script for The Batman that Warner Bros. very pleased with. The film is aiming to begin production in summer 2019.

However, it's still unclear if we will see Ben Affleck suit up again or if someone like Jon Hamm could replace him. Rumors indicating that Matt Reeves' Batman film will feature a younger Bruce Wayne, which would put both 40-something actors Affleck and Hamm off the table. After Jon Hamm voiced his interest in playing Batman, other actors followed in suit regarding the hero's longtime adversary, Penguin. Both Josh Gad and Paul Walter Hauser took to social media to campaign themselves to play the next Oswald Cobblepot.

With the potential exit of Henry Cavill as Superman and Ben Affleck as Batman, the DCEU will definitely be going through some restructuring that might move away from the events of Justice League. Whether or not Matt Reeves looks to Jon Hamm for Bruce Wayne, we think he's a great fit for the role who would bring something fresh to the role. Who knows, if the internet shows enough interest, it could happen. Maybe? Until then, Jon Hamm stars in upcoming film Bad Times at the El Royale, coming to theaters on October 12.
