What Spider-Man And Doctor Strange Have Been Up To Since We Last Saw Them

Iron Man, Spider-Man, and Doctor Strange

This week is the one for Marvel fans. After 10 years and 18 movies, Avengers: Infinity War will arrive in theaters to end the MCU as we know it. The Russo Brothers have the task of uniting all of the shared universe's main characters, with crossovers and character pairings that seemed impossible years ago. These new types of combinations can be seen in Infinity War's trailers, as newcomers like Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange and Tom Holland's Spider-Man join The Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy. Spidey and the Sorcerer Supreme recently had their own journeys, and CinemaBlend's own Eric Eisenberg asked each actor what their character has been up to leading up to Infinity War. Holland was first to jump in, and had a confident take on Peter's last few months, saying:

I think Spider-Man has been doing exactly what he said he was going to do at the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming. Which is look out for the little guy.

It looks like your neighborhood friendly Spider-Man has been doing just that: keeping to his neighborhood. While Homecoming was very much about Peter's attempts to impress Tony Stark and join The Avengers, he ultimately decided against it. While it looks like he'll eventually don the Iron Spider suit Tony made for him sometime during Infinity War, Spider-Man has been presumably fighting against local crime in Queens and other parts of the city.

indeed, the trailers for Infinity War show Peter riding the bus when Thanos and his circular ship eventually descend upon New York. He seems ready to spring into action, which should also put the teenage superhero in serious danger.

As for Benedict Cumberbatch's Stephen Strange, it seems that the magical hero has mostly been concerned with upcoming his hideout, the Sanctum Sanctorum. The place was all but destroyed by the end of Doctor Strange, so Cumberbatch jokes that he and Wong (Benedict Wong) have become fairly domesticated in the time before Avengers: Infinity War.

I've been doing the usual. Laundering, a little bit tidying up. The gaff was a mess at the end of my film. Wong has been- we've been eating way too much really good Korean food and Japanese food.

Aside from occasionally meeting with Thor and keeping the Time Stone safe, it looks like Doctor Strange has been mostly worried about making sure his magical crib is in tip top shape. If he's going to carry so much power and responsibility, the former surgeon at least deserves to have a space of his own.

You can check out Tom Holland and Benedict Cumberbatch's comments below.

As if the two actors' comments weren't delightful enough, there's something special about watching Peter Parker play with a giant Infinity Gauntlet. It's This type of child like wonder that makes Tom Holland's performance as Spider-Man so acclaimed, and why he'll likely become an even bigger presence after the events of Avengers 4.

Avengers: Infinity War will arrive in theaters on April 27th. In the meantime, check out our 2018 release list to plan your next trip to the movies.
