The Star Wars: The Last Jedi Poster Is Bold, Dramatic, And Very Red

The Star Wars franchise has a long history of having a very strong poster game - and while Drew Struzan's art isn't really featured anymore, we're still seeing some cool marketing work being done. Now we finally have the big theatrical one-sheet for the next chapter of the saga, Rian Johnson's Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and it's very, very heavy on the red. Check it out below!

The latest trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi is scheduled tor premiere tonight during Monday Night Football, but the folks over at the Star Wars Twitter account have given us a bit to chew on while we wait for halftime. As is tradition, the poster showcases the majority of the main heroes and villains of the piece (you'll notice a lack of Supreme Leader Snoke), but certainly looming bigger than anyone is the legendary Luke Skywalker, played by Mark Hamill.

At the bottom we see some familiar imagery from the last Star Wars: The Last Jedi trailer, but this artwork is definitely all about the characters. As noted that's Luke Skywalker up top, but in descending order and going from left to right we have Rey (Daisy Ridley), Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew), General Leia Organa (Carrie Fisher), Finn (John Boyega) new character Rose Tico (Kelly Marie Tran), General Hux (Domhnall Gleeson), Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac), BB8, BB-9E, C-3PO (Anthony Daniels), Captain Phasma (Gwendolyn Christie) and R2-D2. That's a pretty big ensemble, but we trust writer/director Rian Johnson to balance them all within the plot.

Right now we don't really know much about the plot of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, beyond Rey training with Luke Skywalker and Kylo Ren getting hungry for revenge, but that may all change in the next few hours. The new theatrical trailer probably won't give too much away about the blockbuster (this is the most secretive movie franchise on the planet, after all), but it will hopefully give us a taste of what to expect from the narrative and where it will be picking up after the events of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

We'll have the Star Wars: The Last Jedi trailer for you as soon as it goes live later tonight, so keep checking back in, and look for the sci-fi feature in theaters on December 15th (tickets are available now). In the meantime, what do you think about this new artwork? Are you a fan, or do you wish they went with something else? Answer our poll, and hit the comments section with your thoughts!
